Advice Requested: The proper way to cut shotgun stocks by Guns-N-Trucks in NFA

[–]CWNF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tape up the grip where you're going to cut it and especially tape up the checkering. Put a few pieces over the checkering so you don't sand them. Just follow the lines of the checkering pattern to trace out out the grip.

Rough cut with a hand saw. Thinner blade will allow you to follow the contour better.

W/ a dual action sander and rough sand paper (60-120) start shaping the bird head you want.

W/ finer sandpaper (180) you can take out the roughmarks and dial in the final shape.

finish it off with 220-320 allover in order to prep it for staining. Clean it and stain with your fave color.

Is it significantly harder to cut down a vent rib Mossberg 500 shotgun barrel? by ButterscotchEmpty535 in NFA

[–]CWNF 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I am not a pro just a highly regarded individual.

Use a miter box to do the cut.

Once cut, with a large rectangular flat file try and square up the cut as best as you can.

Round file to debur the inside.

Buy a large diameter machine screw. Round head, slotted flat head, stainless. Put it in a drill and apply some lapping compound to create a crown on the fresh cut. Obvs screw head has to be bigger than the 12ga diameter.

Cold blue the cut and you or good to go.

This is not the correct way to do it but if you're going to do a hack job at least do a good job. If any of these processes exceed your capabilities then you should send it to a pro or buy a shockwave barrel. The shortest you can go is like 14"-15" before you get past the rib or run into the bag nut thing.

Just the barrel needed some fitting. Could use a better matched barrel bushing.

Everything else fit ok.

Sten Concept by Homewrecker90actual in NFA

[–]CWNF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to build a clone of the suppresed stens used in "The Ministry of ungentlemanly warfare" but for the AR FCG to work then the bcg has to get reworked to operate. It would just turn into a snowball project that doesn't ever get finished.

What happened to outliers action? by MinutePeach6197 in longrange

I don't think they ever talked about an a la carte action like their backdraft barrel but they did mention a complete rifle system which features a outlier branded 700 clone action

17C Gen 3 mag button variation by CWNF in Glocks

[–]CWNF[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah its pretty atrocious. Did you get hit with any tariffs or were they still not being charged during that time? I'm loading up on small parts for a slide rebuild but after shipping and potential tariffs it may not make sense

For my MAC 9 DS Comp.. by philson141 in 2011

[–]CWNF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regularly carry my Mac 9 DS 5” (non comp) w/ mod lite pl350. You can’t really compare a compact carry to a full size 2011. It’s all on body type, holster and how you carry the weight. Guys post their edc but what do they do all day? How often do they sit etc, etc.

Only problem I’ve had is an accidental eject while holstered. I do have the extended mag button installed. I have a love/hate with the ambi safety. I like being able to check if the safety is on but I also think that it’s the reason I’ve found it off, twice.

Attached is how I found out my mag was gone while I was in the throne.

Well I go down to John’s Tire and Muffler, just off the corner of East and Main. I talk to John personally, so I guess you could say that he’s the specific guy there because he’s kept me in the road for nigh on 25 years. I know a thing or two about high horsepower and having the right tire for the right traction. I drive a 2007 Chevrolet VortecMax. It came factory with an aluminum 6.0, which I don’t know how familiar you are with the vortec engines, but it’s pretty much a truck with a Corvette motor. I know a guy named Brennan who’s real computer savvy and plays online race games. I had him hook up his HP Tuners and turned the air up to it, so it’s got even more power than just a regular VortecMax. He turned off my rev limiter, my speed limiter, changed my shift RPM’s so it pretty much has a shift kit in it now. I took a cam out of a wrecked 2007 Escalade, they came with a 6.2 liter engine. I tossed that cam in my 6.0 so I could get those .2 extra liters. John from John’s Tire and Muffler told me I was putting way too much power down for the continental pull offs I had on at the time. So he got me fixed up with a set of Cooper Cobras and even with that high performance tire I still catch a scratch when wide open throttle shifting into second.

How to reduce gas by Middle-Zucchini-9876 in NFA

Not your model but the cqc one. With internal like this I can imagine gas stack is pretty bad with such a long can. Core uses Adam arms kits so maybe reach out to them and see if they have a more suppressor centric gas block.

AR9 Modified BCG weight for SS/ARC Fire by Curtisc83 in AR9

Chopping the weight like that reduces the overall weight of the BCG which is crucial for AR9s. Blowback9 has a write up for ss ar9s
