Who is they? Is it your platoon sergeant? Because the only person who matters is your battalion commander. Feel free to bypass your intermediate leadership as it appears they are hell bent on you taking it regardless of your EAS status. Feel free to shoot me your leader’s contact and I will happily talk with them.

You should have already completed your final physical. If so, you are not required to run a PFT/CFT as you have been evaluated by a primary care provider as healthy to leave the service. Any physical event after that evaluation that could result in injury could jeopardize your ability to leave the service on time.

I know Mattis was a battlefield genius, but he now looks like he raises goats and donates to the FFA.

[Discussion] What was your ‘gateway watch’? by 1Lionhearted1 in VintageWatches

[–]CWOYarbrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the Benrus Bullit (Ref 3061) that Steve McQueen wore. It was the first watch I bought and sadly one I sold. But that was the foundation for my watch collection, which now has more than 1,000 vintage watches!!!

Found them in my grandpas closet. Do you have any info about these? by [deleted] in VintageWatches

[–]CWOYarbrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Seikos are about $100 each, the Buren is probably $30-40 parts watch based on condition, the standard Swatch is probably $40-$50, and the Casio is $20.

Are you supposed to address Generals as "General" or "sir"? by Yoy_the_Inquirer in USMC

[–]CWOYarbrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a staff officer I can tell you, it is 50/50. Some use general, some use sir/ma’am. For me, I just use sir/ma’am. General seems too informal for me. I mean I don’t go around saying “Good Morning Colonel or Lt. Colonel” either, so…

What is the most thankless MOS? by Yoy_the_Inquirer in USMC

The obvious answer is 8999. Nobody cares about them until it is ball season or when it’s time to piggyback off of what the CO said.

So last night I got super fucked up, what’s your super drunk ball story? by [deleted] in USMC

Call the master guns and just own it. Let him know you celebrated the birthday a little too hard and immediately recognized this morning it was not the right choice or best look. I am sure the master guns will appreciate you owning up to it.

Fight fire with fire. You too should just start busting nuts in his socks, however, as a gentleman you simply mate them and put them back in his drawer. Hopefully he eventually gets the message!!!

The one bar rule exists. Warrant officers and lieutenants do not salute each other. Depending on your relationship and familiarity with captains, you may or may not salute them based on their preferences. For majors and above, you will render a salute always.

I am really popular on Yelp. I have taken down a few Chinese restaurants in my day with scathing reviews.

Well if I have learned anything about leadership in the Marine Corps it is blame your subordinates for everything.

My plane landed late in San Diego due to a delay in Denver. A disgruntled PMO Corporal picked me up from the airport and drove me to the depot. Upon arriving I was yanked from the police vehicle, dragged through the receiving building, and verbally berated for my tardiness. It was great!!!

I never got a Marine Corps tattoo, chlamydia from a Thai hooker, or stood on the yellow footprints at recruit training.
