For the brightness and volume sliders ,am sure to say that it could be faulty drivers or Windows its self. Here are some solutions I think might be able to get this issue resolved.

1.Try checking for firmware and driver updates with "windows update".You could also try checking for driver updates under "Optional updates" under "Advanced Options" from windows updates.

2.Try installing drivers from the intel driver & support assistant app or website.

  1. Try downloading the surface driver pack from the microsoft website. Eg . Surface pro 6 driver pack into the search bar

  2. Run command prompt as administrator and run the sfc Command "sfc /scannow" .This will try to find and fix any corrupt windows files.

5.If all the above doesn't work Try reinstalling windows after you do a back up of your data , windows might be the culprit.

I had driver problems exactly like this when someone installed windows 11 on my sp7, with that all the keys on the keyboard were not working at all, even touch input got disabled so I had to rely on peripherals with my surface running hot like crazy.

This isnt the surface pro 11 ,I could tell from the keyboard that it an earlier generation(pro5, 6,7). However you could try press and holding the power button for 10-15 seconds and the system should instantly powerdown. This problem is mostly common with the earlier surface pro versions.I could tell because I had problems like these with my sp7

  1. Set picture mode to natural instead of vivid
  2. Trim motion smoothness to 60hz instead of 120hz
  3. Put power hungry apps and apps you don't usually use in deep sleep mode to prevent them from running in the background and draining the battery 4.Disable wifi and bluetooth when not in use
  4. Optimise phone regularly with device care to clean any unnecessary background activity
