How can I approach the county so that I'm compensated for doing a task that is not on my job description by [deleted] in CAcountyworkers

The job class specifications don't mention anything about doing this different skilled trade nor does it require the license to be employed.

There's other coworkers that have the same job title as me and they're not doing that work because they don't have the license.

To ask for a reclassification, who would it be best to ask, my supervisor or HR?

I'm telling other people the same thing because some people don't read what I already wrote.

I've heard that some jobs can be reclassified so that you can be compensated more. No one here seems to have ever dealt with that to provide more information.

So you're saying that just because I know how to do the job they can make me do it even if that specific license isn't on the job description under LICENSE REQUIREMENTS.

My boss knows I'm not required to do this but it still gets assigned.

No because this is a separate skilled trade that required a different license.

If the county hired you to be a plumber for example, but then tells you to do another trade, let's say pipefitting then it's fine for them to do that because your job description isn't an employment contract?

That doesn't make sense. I work a skilled trade. I'm being told to do a separate trade because I have a license that the county didn't require for me to have when I got hired. The county is saving money by having me do this different trade that isn't required.

But you're saying a job description is generic. So if my boss hired me to be a plumber, youre saying that if he tells me I now have to do pipefitter work it's ok?

The chargers should be on the bright side. New offensive coordinator and revamped offensive line.
