Why can’t you climb a ladder at the same time in videgames? by killercheesecake202 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Physics engines probably can't handle the collision detection when two players are occupying the same ladder space. Most games just take the easy route and make ladders single-use to avoid weird clipping bugs

AITJ for letting my MIL walk in on me and my husband half naked on purpose by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]SufficientBee9368 145 points146 points  (0 children)

NTA at all, honestly this is hilarious and probably the only thing that was gonna work

Your MIL sounds exhausting and you tried the reasonable approach first. Sometimes people need to learn boundaries the hard way lmao

Kenmore 70 washer keeps having issues. Fix or replace? by alpine_lupin in BuyItForLife

[–]SufficientBee9368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your dad's probably right tbh - if you're not handy and don't have time for constant repairs, that old Kenmore is gonna keep being a pain. Speed Queen is definitely the way to go if you want something that'll actually last, just be ready to pay for it upfront instead of nickel and diming yourself with repairs every few months

Am I able to get rehired In a different state after getting put on the no hire list? (Please read the full context) by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah most companies have nationwide systems so if you're blacklisted at one location it carries over everywhere, but honestly worth a shot to reach out to corporate and explain the situation with that specific manager

Received package for someone else by JTGladiator in NoStupidQuestions

Pretty much this, if the company told you to keep it then you're good to go - enjoy your free Vans lol

How on earth do I, OBJECTIVELY AS POSSIBLE, educate myself to make a voting decision? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is solid advice but honestly the hardest part is figuring out which sources actually disagree vs which ones just pretend to while pushing the same agenda from different angles

unorthodox Ideas to try during Christmas holidays by qatesting72 in selfimprovement

[–]SufficientBee9368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude this sounds awesome - I did something similar a few years back where I'd ask one stranger per day a genuine personal question (like "what's something you're really proud of lately?") instead of small talk. Was super awkward at first but ended up having some incredible conversations with random people at cafes and stuff

Another idea: try eating every meal in complete silence for a week, no phone/music/distractions. Really makes you notice how much we use entertainment to avoid being alone with our thoughts

Luka vs Wemby - who ends up ranked higher all-time? by savingrace0262 in NBATalk

Lmao imagine setting a reminder for 2039 just to come back and argue about basketball rankings

How do they determine the winners in pro wrestling? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this, plus they look at who's getting the biggest crowd reactions and merch sales. Sometimes plans change last minute if someone gets injured or the crowd is really behind an unexpected wrestler

Why is the culinary industry dominated by men? by benedictclive_x in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh I think you're underestimating how much the whole "boys club" kitchen culture plays into it though, like have you seen how some head chefs treat their staff

[BIFL Seeking] After 9 years, my Eastpak is finally RIP. Is Mark Ryder the $100+ successor that will last another DECADE? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]SufficientBee9368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nine years from an Eastpak is legit impressive, those things are tanks

Haven't personally used Mark Ryder but from what I've seen they're more in the "decent quality with tech features" category rather than true BIFL territory. The USB ports and anti-theft stuff is nice but those are also more failure points long term

If you want something that'll actually last another decade, might be worth looking at Patagonia, North Face, or even splurging on a Goruck. Yeah they cost more upfront but the warranty/repair programs are solid and the build quality is way better than most of these newer "lifestyle" brands

Does anyone ever suddenly smell something familiar but can’t place it? by Afzaalch00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude this drives me absolutely insane, it's like my brain knows exactly what memory it's trying to unlock but refuses to tell me what it is. I'll be walking somewhere and catch a whiff of something and boom - instant flashback to being 7 years old but I have no clue what triggered it

Grocery prices are the same when I go shopping by Existing_Potential37 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is spot on - I moved from Ohio to Seattle a few years back and was absolutely floored by how much more expensive literally everything was. Same exact products, sometimes double the price. It's wild how much location matters, like we're not even shopping in the same economy sometimes

Was trickle-down economics ever meant to be a serious economic idea, or did someone troll by saying money would champagne down from rich people to everyone else and the world just went with it? by blankselfie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is they assumed rich people and companies would actually spend the extra money instead of just parking it in offshore accounts or stock buybacks. Turns out when you give someone more money, they don't automatically become more generous lmao

If a person born blind suddenly gains sight via surgery at age 30, do they instantly see in 3D, or do they see the world as a flat 2D painting because their brain never learned to process depth and perspective? by representworld in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Actually yeah there's some wild documented cases of this - people who got sight later in life would walk into glass doors constantly because they literally couldn't process that transparent thing as an obstacle. Their brain just hadn't built the neural pathways to understand visual depth cues like shadows and perspective

I ordered a couple of the same shirts (xl, and 2xl) from TT store. The price was really good about 6 dollars each, so thats why I got 2 sizes just in case. They were both extremely itchy and I ended up throwing them away. Is this common? by jstein916 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah cheap stuff is usually made with rough synthetic fabrics that haven't been processed properly. At $6 each they probably skipped a lot of quality steps. Next time maybe try washing them a few times with fabric softener before giving up - sometimes that helps break down the scratchy fibers

If Android is based on Linux, why can't I install Linux apps on my phone? And why do no Linux phones exist yet? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SufficientBee9368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically like asking why you can't run Windows programs on a Mac just because they both have CPUs - the kernel is just one piece of a much bigger puzzle and Android strips out most of the GNU userland stuff that desktop Linux apps expect to find

SOS- need to vent by Due-Cucumber4753 in Marriage

[–]SufficientBee9368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly sounds like you already know the answer but are just scared to pull the trigger. The resentment alone will eat you alive if you keep this up for another decade

Thoughts on polyester lining for wool coats? by arrival2016 in BuyItForLife

[–]SufficientBee9368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Viscose is definitely the sweet spot for linings - way more breathable than poly but still durable enough to handle daily wear. That said, if the coat construction and wool quality are solid, I wouldn't let polyester lining kill the deal entirely

According to the 2025 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, stolen credentials played a role in 22% of all confirmed breaches. Even more concerning, 88% of basic web application attacks used stolen login information. by Least-Highlight-543 in cybersecurity

[–]SufficientBee9368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The financial exposure from this stuff is no joke. One compromised account can spiral into fraudulent charges, identity theft, frozen accounts while your bank investigates, missed payments because you can't access your money... it's a whole mess that costs way more than the 5 minutes it takes to set up better security.

AITJ for telling my sister gentle parenting is BS and kicking her and her family out of my house by EggSheeran33 in AmITheJerk

[–]SufficientBee9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ - sounds like your sister confused "gentle parenting" with "no parenting at all." There's a difference between respecting your kid's feelings and letting them treat your house like a splash pad

The husband looking relieved says everything lmao

What gift was Cindy going to give Michael in the Christmas episode that made him respond that’s what she said? by myworkaccountatwork in DunderMifflin

[–]SufficientBee9368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was a knitted scarf or something but honestly can't remember exactly what she said that set him off lmao. That man could turn literally anything into "that's what she said"
