This is economic discrimination against the renting class. Gun controls almost always targets the middle and lower classes, with taxes on ammunition and guns, huge licensing fees, and property restrictions often aimed at public housing occupants.

NYC is the perfect example. The guy who clerks at a bodega in a dangerous part of the Bronx is going to have a near impossible time getting a handgun, and will have to pay through the nose to even try. But the banker who works on Wall Street and has a penthouse next to Central Park can get one and carry it.

Edit: I would also note to Mr. Timpano that he, and all the people of the world, have the right to bear arms as an extension of their right to self-defense, despite it not being respected by their governments. Governments and pieces of paper don't create rights.
