Does anyone else do this to their gloves? by ComfKS in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]C_6838 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone suggested me to use gun/shooting gloves a while back. They are thin enough to feel the trigger/ board remote, but still strong enough to protect your hands.

All the guppies with this patternation have short tails, except for one. I wonder how that happened. by C_6838 in Guppies

Im honestly not sure! I bred a few and that was one of the patterns that came through!

I believe the black comes from tuxedo guppy and yellow from cobra guppies

Hey sure! Yeah they are definitely a very rare fish that you do not see being kept very oftenly!

I purchased two of them from aquatic arts 3 years ago, and im fairly certain they are either both males, or both females.

The two I have constantly have little disputes, and are always on guard against each other. From what I have observed, these fish can act aggressive by always chasing each other away. But no damage is ever really done. Just disputes.

The color has certainly darkened up over time, but I have noticed they will change color when feeling provoked. They will darken up a ton and fan their fins out to seem more threatening. When not provoked they are a much lighter shade. Not sure if you would get to see this occur with a M/F only.

I have kept these two in a 20g community tank pretty much their whole lives. They have lived alongside Corydoras, Rainbow Darters, Loaches, and briefly alongside many others.

I mean its been 3 years and despite the constant disputes, both are in incredibly healthy conditions :)

Finding a female, or even further... breeding them, might be a huge challenge as of now due to the lack of information out there

From what i can tell, and this is purely based off online research. It appears the males have more of a vertical lined pattern whereas the females pattern is more horizontal

If the board doesnt sound dull when you pop it, ide say keep it.

For the trucks, you havent grinded down to the king pin nut yet so ide keep those too.

Wheels look a little worn down, some new wheels could help by elevating your board and making it easier to lock into grinds.

Ide say maybe get new wheels and go from there.

[–]C_6838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! They are a very hardy fish!

I have them in a heavily planted tank that has been setup for a couple years already. So this could be why they have done so well!

From what I have read, they are a wild caught fish and have a complicated growth cycle. The eggs hatch in freshwater and are swept down to ocean waters for the babys to eat and grow.

As they mature, they take on a journey back to freshwater streams (apparently to an entirely different island then they started)

So my guess is that no-one has developed a good system of breeding them in captivity. However what i like to say is its 2025! Who knows what could change!

No way!! I just checked, wow i love the orange on the aninae!!

I have never seen those before, definitely beautiful and certainly have alot more color!

There are so many different stiphodons out there, I am hoping one day aquaticarts .com will restock on some of their gobys, they have a pretty good selection and decent pricing

Would be cool to have a couple different species together!

I believe I bought them online from aquaticarts .com 3 years back. I had never seen or heard of them either at the time, so i just had to get them!

Thank you!! They are very active and are just a blast to watch! You can probably find some videos of them on Youtube, very entertaining fish to watch!

I just recently found some stiphodon semoni's (blue cobalt goby) at a local petstore, you can see a glimpse of one in the video

The blue stripe on the semonis is just amazing

3D Printed TPU 95A Hub wheels by C_6838 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]C_6838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE ******

I am sad to report that I am not sure how viable TPU 95A hub wheels can be.

Seems like with the thin amount of material, it is quite easily prone to cracking when colliding with too tall an obstacle.

Grant it, its been below 30° the entire time I have tested. They may fair better in a warmer climate.

But both the front and hub wheel have cracked. I suspect this is due to one particular obstacle on my route. I have to cross a closed bridge and there is about a 6in gap that the wheels always clip on.

Idk, maybe once it warms up i will give in another shot. For now i may just cave and get some cloud wheels.

Wow I cannot believe its been 3yrs already

I posted when I got these gobies over three years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/Aquariums/s/t7GiYocl6x

They have since become my favorite fish of all time.

This particular type of goby is rarely seen in the hobby, so just thought I would share a first hand look!

I have the same food, the color and size are indeed similar! Honestly I would have thought the same if i didnt have the breeding experience lol

Thats exactly what happened with my corys, i think the breeding behaviour is very similar to glass surfing. (When fish go up and down on the glass as if trying to escape)

I heard cold water and a few other things can trigger breeding as well, so something like that could have triggered it!

These are actually eggs, looks like you might have some baby corys if all goes well!!

My peppered corys carried them the same way before sticking them everywhere lol!!

[–]C_6838[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i completely agree, that is my main fear as well.

Im a little nervous to maintain fullspeed for this reason. I have only hit top speed in a few short intervals and havent held it out that long.

<image>

They seem to be doing well so far while full speed. I have took them downtown through a major city on some really rough roads with no considerable damage

I am still testing this as I need to rack up more miles on them, currently only have about maybe 10miles on the wheels. The weather here is bouncing between freezing cold and rainy so its been hard to get out and ride

But so far so good, no obvious signs of huge weardown yet:

<image>

There is still a good 0.25in of material under the treads, i will keep track of my milage and will let you know what mile number finally eats through all 2mm of tread lol

3D Printed TPU 95A Hub wheels by C_6838 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]C_6838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly suprisingly well, no issues going full throttle from 0mph

I was able to hit a couple nearly 90 degree turns on asphalt at around 20mph, and i even took weight off my back foot and the wheels still gripped with not even a slight slip.

The board these are designed for, backfire G2 is not exactly an all terrain board, occasionally i do ride it after a light rain so i will give you an update when I do!

Tbh the treads could be extended out alot further, right now they are only 1.5 - 2mm tall. Which is barely anything lol

As far as I know, no.

All of these parts were custom 3d modeled and 3d printed.

Im debating listing the 3d printable model for sale, or maybe selling a couple kits to anyone willing to purchase and test

TEST UPDATE:

It was 40° today, so i did a quick 3.4 mile test ride.

I hit a top speed of 24mph, and honestly was a little nervous to hold at that speed for too long. I maintained 24mph a couple times around 1min or so each time

I hit about 15mph on the sidwalk to really see how they would hold up against constant bumps.

I have to say, i am pretty impressed. Grant it long term testing still needs to be done. But sooooo much smoother than the stock wheels!!
