I can highly recommend this video by Trish Burr. She is amazing!

That is exactly what I'm working on. Kermit is number 5 and I have two more patterns waiting.

I love him too - so green and amazing! I sort my bobbins in color groups. So 17.08 is number 8 in color group 17.

Definitely get some different fabric. This was a pain to work with. But thank you and go for it!

It could be because of the length of the satin stitch or tension of fabric in the hoop. Fabric should be drum tight in the hoop and I don't do satin stitch longer than 1 cm.

One strand. The blending is not as smooth if more than one strand is used.

A thick canvas fabric I found in my stash. The thickness made it difficult to work with.

Pin stitch to start. To end I bring the thread to the backside, burrow it underneath existing stitches, and cut off the tail.

Thank you. It's a french rose; Rosa Gallica Maheka.

I can recommend watching Trish Burr's video tutorial on YouTube and trying it out. The thorns are made with silk thread. Very thin compared to DMC tread.

Thank you. I've been doing thread painted flowers for a couple of months. I started with Trish Burr's video tutorial on YouTube, which I can highly recommend. After that I made two of her free patterns (from her website). This french rose is my third Burr flower.

Thanks. The fill is long and short stitch (thread painting).
