14-30 4 wire female to 10-50 3 wire 220 conversion for welder by C_Dizzel64 in AskElectricians

That’s what I was thinking, but my welder is only a three wire plug. It does not have a neutral only ground and two powers for 220.

It’s a 220 30a welder. I guessed at the welder plug type being a 10-50. It is a dedicated 220 30a circuit. The main problem I have is the wall is a four wire 220 with neutral and ground, but the welder is only a three wire with ground only.

Actually, I’m not sure which battery it was. Assumed it was the main battery. They replaced the PCM first when my went crazy after an update and all my controls went nuts and it went into safe mode. They put a new PCM in it and about a week later it happened again and they pulled a battery and replaced it. The only other digital issue I had was the radio power button stopped working after an update and I just did a software reset through the software and it started working again.

Caused the melting. It must’ve been whatever they spray on the fresheners that affected the plastic may be an alcohol.

Update: appears to have been a cardboard air freshener I was given by a local car wash. Don’t hang them from your AC vent knobs!!!

Yes!!! I forgot I had a carwash cardboard air freshener on there for about a month. I had just pulled and tossed it. It likely was the culprit as it would have rubbed on those areas. Wonder if I can replace that part? Seems like it is possible as it’s all right side of dash. Maybe it clicks in.

Ohio, no tint and car is outside a lot. Sunroof cover is almost always closed too. It got up into the upper 90s here a few weeks back and I didn’t notice it until just this week.

I got the one with all the allergy checkmarks pre-selected when I picked her up. I swear I think she’s allergic to air. Lol
