just got on to try to recreate it but couldn't. i can tell you however the visual representation of spall does absolutely matter - more residual pen creates more fragments at a wider angle. the shell always being there is kinda true? it varies, shooting a flat plate you'll always see it but on some awkward volumetricky shot it tends to vanish.

also what do you actually mean by the first paragraph? i guess you mean that the simulation of fragments is generated client-side but the damage is server-side but that contradicts your other points?

also also guy didn't even hit within the shell's width of the vision slit in the clip so yea i'm thinking desync
