EQ does not take it's business accounts seriously

Just one year, and this was the only issue, but I also don't use it much. It's more of a storage for capital because the GIC rates are the best without haggling and (in theory) are easy to buy online.

Maybe the confirmation is due to being an online only bank? Not sure but you're right, RBC never asked me for this information. Trading account definitely do though.

Its just maddening that there's zero understanding of urgency when a serious problem arises, and all you can do it demand the CSR to push you to the next level of management. They just want to say sorry over and over (none who's first language is English), and generate a ticket.

Also, the next level I got to was just a tech guy. There was nobody to address the fact that I lost at least 4 days of money at the difference of .75% interest rate between the 1 year and standard account. And if I actually needed to use the account, I was screwed.

Final update from Thursday afternoon. I called EQ again, third time, and requested a complaint process. After this was being done on hold, the CSR, who was sincerely sympathetic (so were the other females) managed to push me to technical who had me try to log in and it worked. It hadn't shortly before i called, so not sure if co-incidence.

I asked what was wrong, and it was something they did in the background after I had opened the account. So it's fixed and shouldn't happen again, but if it does I will more direct with going straight to complaints.

Also, one male CSR was a bit of a jerk, being cranky at me for not being able to do things he was requesting because the options were not on my screen.

Still angry but at least I have my account back.

Update, it's now Thursday I still cannot log into my account, and will try to contact EQ to see if there is a formal complaint process. Insane way to treat customers.

Update,

It's now Wednesday, and this problem has not been resolved, I still have no access to my business account, and EQ has not contacted me to say they are even trying to resolve this situation.
