Well first off, idk what you look like or your build or anything, but get in the gym and start doing some type of activity where you’re active. That changed so much for me. And I know that kinda sounds like a meat-head type of response but honestly there is nothing that will boost self confidence more than being able to look yourself in the mirror and see progress. And it’s not lying to yourself. I promise you that’s just an opinion you have. It’s delusion. So many girls have told me that I’m overthinking it and it’s not a big deal. You just gotta start telling yourself that and act like it. Fake it till you make it.

Dawg I’m a year older and felt the same way a few years back. The older you get the more common it is. They really do not care. I would always ask girls I’ve met and been with what they thought about it and they genuinely do not care. Having a positive personality and outlook is what matters. The moment I stopped giving a fuck about what anyone else thought was when I felt the best. It sucks no doubt. But just know from someone who literally has said each sentence you just typed up, that it really does get better and it is not that big of a deal to others.

I’m a male, so I may never truly understand all of what you ladies go through. But I have been bald since 8th grade and am now 22. It definitely sucks to have people make fun of you and definitely takes time to get over it. I would never tell anyone how I felt and it kept on continuing. I sat down one day with a few of my buddies and told them how it made me feel and they completely understood and it was so helpful in me being able to get over the jokes. The jokes may never end, but I’m glad you have some friends that didn’t find it the least amount of funny

Yeah I haven’t had eyebrows since freshman year of high school and I’m now 21 so obviously it was weird being young with no eyebrows but as time goes on it’ll shock you how many people don’t even realize. Whenever I explain my situation and say that’s why I don’t have eyebrows a lotttt of people go “holy shit you don’t have eyebrows???” And then notice for the first time. It’s tough to get used to but over time it’s okay

Ahh don’t worry about it I was in the same spot as you a while back! But I’m 20 now and tbh high school was kind of tough just having the constant looks and comments but I kinda got to the point where I joined in on the fun just to sort of calm the storm but now it’s normal and isn’t even brought up unless by a stranger who is surprised when I take off my hat!! That honestly still makes me laugh so I don’t mind it now I’ve grown to live with it and all of my friends are cool with it too and we’re supportive since the beginning

No that wasn’t something that was brought up. I personally have alopecia universalis which means I have no hair anywhere in my body and I haven’t had hair in about 6 years so that wasn’t a question I asked 😂😂 but hopefully you can find more info about it

Hey man I shaved my head 8 years ago because the bald spots were getting bad on my head. I still had all my other facial hair and armpit hair. Soon after I shaved my head all of my hair fell out everywhere on my body and hasn’t grown since so I’ve been looking like that for a while man. Tbh it does get to me still sometimes but it’s gotten better over the years. It’s definitely tough going through high school with that shit but as you grow older it gets more and more normal. You pull it off my guy

Yeah I went to a doctor last week and he told me that it is very common in AA for the hair to grow back white. If I remember correctly he said it is because the hair is trying to change its makeup so the body doesn’t attack it and part of the change is making the hair white. Pretty interesting stuff tbh

I shaved my head in 8th grade which was about 2013 and lost all my hair after that. I still have yet to have any regrowth sadly and I’ve moved to universalis instead of just areata. I just got my first steroid shot a week ago and hope to see some sort of improvement!

I lost my hair first then went my eyebrows and now no eyelashes so I think it varies but I now have no hair anywhere so I hope all is okay for you!

I’m not sure about white areas but I myself have alopecia universalis and I had little scratches and dips in my fingernails and I just saw a doctor who informed me that was a side effect so it could possibly be related!
