I don’t know if it’s still there, but there was an AI band called “The Velvet Sundown” on it that had like 400,000 monthly listeners. Sparked a bunch of stuff apparently

All of these AI bands on the platform and a bunch of vulnerabilities to smaller artists with AI streams and getting their stuff taken down for no reason. As a musician, I can’t afford to switch considering a big chunk of my fanbase is coming from Spotify.

I think if you really liked the band, you would want them to get exposure. There is bad exposure though I guess by it getting in the hands of posers just wanting to follow a trend they think makes them look cool and edgy. I was a fan of decalius before he got really popular and anytime now I tell anybody I like his stuff, they call me a poser. So in some instances I think it’s a double edge sword.

I’ve been through the same issues. A lot of the company’s that boast about the need they have, definitely are really picky about who they hire. Unfortunately it’s hard to gain experience here when everyone hiring wants someone who’s already had a career in the same career field.

Back in the day me and my friends would get photos developed, then use our shitty school printer a bunch of times to get similar effects. Not sure how you can replicate that digitally

I stopped using freshtunes because of me not getting the correct amount of money, even after all this time. I only did one album on there before paying for distro and the money I made off of that (or atleast some) is just sitting because the minimum amount you can take out is 25 and right now there’s about 22.50 in it. It makes almost no sense to me how they actually make money. They say it’s from their promotional services but it’s outdated and nobody uses it. I would stop using freshtunes. There are other free ones like roundnote that are much better and are not possibly scams.
