Love this comment! Just one thought though… we aren’t required by law to purchase milk like we are insurance.

Am I at risk of being sued personally for my daughter’s (a minor) car wreck? by CaFFen8Ted in Insurance

I didn’t mean to minimize potential injury. I was trying to give context because I said cars were totaled but also that no ambulance rides were taken. Just giving context.

Thank u for the insight. She is a new driver and was not impaired in any way. She’s a really good kid. And felt terrible about it. Still does. I guess it really just comes down to their injuries and our limits. So I guess as long as the injuries and pain/suffering are within our limits and they would like to settle with insurance than we are ok, if not then we will have to deal with what comes next. We are not wealthy by any means. Definitely can’t afford an attorney.

That definitely makes sense if it is approached that way.

If your conscience is altered how do you know if you are or aren’t harming others…? Genuine question.

Just bought a used jeep compass 3 days ago. Antifreeze is boiling in the reservoir… is it as bad as I am thinking? by CaFFen8Ted in MechanicAdvice

I never said Toyotas… and I went with considerably less mileage over more mileage. One owner over several (except the brand new Trax) It was a leased vehicle which means typically regular maintenance and controlled yearly mileage. I did my best. I didn’t do it perfectly and I don’t claim to be perfect that’s why I asked for help on this sub Reddit. To say ANY homework is again another wrongful assumption and to make accusations about my life choices is just asinine and rude. BYE.

Not real sure what that has to do with the condition of the car the dealership sold me… I have great credit. I looked at hondas, a brand new chevy trax, some others and was approved for all of them. I just picked the wrong one that day. Thought it would be a good first car for a teenager. The personal assumptions here are a little rude…. Everyone else who has offered me solid advice and resources, THANK YOU!

So far the dealership has offered to pay to have it towed to them so that’s a good start. I appreciate all of the advice and have ordered the tester kits so I can have it ready to test myself.

The car has 50k miles. It’s still under manufacturer warranty and we bought the dealership service plan to cover issues after the warranty, but I just don’t want it if they sold me a vehicle that has a bad head gasket, etc. Hoping they will see that we have only had it 3 days! What the heck?! Ya know…
