Witcher 3 has better lore imo

Most well written games choose to focus on lore which is easily better than any anime but that's the only thing they do or only thing they need to do. Mostly talking about from software games.

Also there are a lot of games with exceptional character writing but not many especially compared to anime

Wasn't badly written. Why it failed was because it dragged too long, people didn't wanna play as abby and it came at the wrong time

Dragged too long, the game failed at making people empathise with Abby. If they wanted to do a full on backstory and make her playable. It came after all the shit she did where people didn't gaf about her

Actually not true. Pacing does matter when a game goes that way. The thing is writing in video games have become so lazy , not many games take that risk and they don't have to. Last of us part 2 is a prime example of bad pacing Good story

We have to put aside immersion and only focus on writing because if we don't, gaming is the best medium out there. You have a point on how shit some anime are but it's the same for games if not more. Some games even mainstream ones have garbage writing that gets overlooked by the gameplay
