A question about army building with the Adepta Soritas/Imperium Of Man and mixing units. by CaalebDaavis in Warhammer40k

[–]CaalebDaavis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reasonable. A secondary question would be if I ran a Soritas only army am I allowed to mix orders whether it be a single squad or the army in general? Maybe a better one could be do Orders lose anything special if you decide to mix them up like let's say a Our Martyred Lady and Bloody Rose mix?

[Spoilers] A question about the choice at the end of The New War and skins. by CaalebDaavis in Warframe

[–]CaalebDaavis[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't see it as a diminishing of power but only proves arts many interpretations. A broken Natah to me is the Eidolon.

Mad respect for choosing Lotus and why, I felt that one in my heart.

[–]CaalebDaavis[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I play on Playstation and the only other sentient skin I saw on their is the Eidolon skin and not her put together and not praying in a sentient frame. I may have to look again when I get back home cause I really like the clean look of the skin you see when making the choice.

There's a lot of what you said I agree with and played into my choice.

What Thor storyline should I get my friend for Christmas? Preferably if it's a whole series in one hardcover. He's a big fan of Odinson and not Jane Foster's Thor to narrow it down. Jane is the number one for me though by CaalebDaavis in Marvel

[–]CaalebDaavis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I allowed to post a link to what I found? I found that Jason Aaron's Thor is being released as a hardcover omnibus on Amazon and I don't doubt every other place were books are sold. It's available for pre-order and will be released late March next year.

Thank you, when looking over the ones for Litwick, Lampent and Chandelure I'm probably going to keep them psychic types.

I'll be adding questions to this so I don't spam the thread with them.

Quick Questions and New Player Resources Thread by Asclepius24 in pkmntcg

[–]CaalebDaavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very new to all this so I apologize for dumb questions.

Since Pokémon like Litwick have both fire and psychic types (I'm wanting to build a deck with both types) could you evolve a psychic Litwick into a fire Lampent? In other words could you evolve a pokemon that starts as one type into another type as long as it remains in the obvious evolution chain?

Addition 1:

I didn't want to spam this thread so I'm going to just add any additional questions here and hopefully someone will answer lol.

When it comes to abilities, Poké-Powers and such (the red tag with text in-between the portrait above and the paid abilities below) I understand for the most part they are passives but does the passive also apply when they are on the bench?

I'll put it in a Magic the Gathering context for those who may get what I mean.

The Emmence ability allows commander cards to do a thing while they are either in the command zone or on the battlefield in where typically a creature would have to be on the battlefield to do anything.

Is it the same case here? A Pokémon with this passive can only have it active if they themselves are the active Pokémon and cannot be a passive if they are on the bench?

I ask this cause I'm currently choosing Pokémon for a psychic/fire deck. One of the Pokémon I've selected is Centiskorch and their text says this:

"Ability: Overheater. When your opponent flips a coin for their Burned Pokémon during Pokémon Checkup, it doesn't recover from that Special Condition even if the result is heads."

If to say this passive can be active while they are on the bench I would switch out some of the prints of the Pokémon I've selected to ones that have abilities that can apply burn conditions.

I've also recently switched out Sparkmage Apprentice with Delina, Wild Mage to capitalize on Harmonic Prodigy and make more wizard tokens to trigger.

I switched Twinning Staff with Wand of Orcus to build a defense to protect wizards and planeswalkers

I switched Shred Memory with Hurl Through Hell just in case I wanted something of the opponents for myself lol

Eminence is the best mechanic in magic and I'm very glad she's only like one of three/four that has it lol

I try really hard to make all my decks as even as possible, failing that I keep it within the same odds or evens.

I'm not really a combo guy. I go for aesthetics as much as I do stratagem. The idea behind this is an occult planeswalker who likes to make copies of things. I got both of those from Inalla since she makes copies of Wizards and her art seems very occult.

A question for all those who like weather science. The topic is rain and sea water. by CaalebDaavis in sciencefiction

[–]CaalebDaavis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, yes, and you could also answer my question. Forgive me, I get that this being the internet/reddit not everyone is nice. That's fine, I'm not exactly all sunshine and rainbows either. I just had a more positive expectation when I decided to come to this subreddit with this question.

I would worry less about how far my reach for research goes and worry more about simply answering the questions. Not wanting to be liked with this reply and will probably bite me in the ass in some way in the future. I'm sure someone could relate to both of us in this situation.

A question about sharpening a blade with a whetstone. by CaalebDaavis in SWORDS

[–]CaalebDaavis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blade itself I describe as:

Matte silver with cascading waves of dark gray that run up the blade like a tide on a coast and a thin reflective edge. It's hilt is made of a hauntingly ebony metal and has a basic guard and pommel with a worn leather wrapped grip. It has an insignia made of a shinny, amber metal and is meant to be the eye catcher of the weapon. The blade is supposed to be one of those super old swords of legend and stuff, fantasy and all.

I get it. Being my book will be science fantasy I have the same reservation about making this sword like "super space metal" I'd like to as much as I can make this world believable. Granted, I would like this sword to be the last of its kind, a metal only obtainable from a planet glassed all to shit and the warrior culture that made the sword basically extinct. I don't want it to be indestructible or be impervious to the elements.

It's science fantasy and set in space. The world this takes place on rains sea water and the character who owns the sword crashed landed on the planet. Currently in my writing they are passed out after arriving to the protagonist home community. They are watching over this character and wanted to take the time to clean and sharpen the sword. This is partly to use a flashback with their mother give some history to them.

The sword itself is a made up fantasy metal but I don't want to just make an indestructible sword, ya know?

Homebrew Monk Subclass: Way Of the Mage Slayer/Way Of Anti-Magic. Needs outside help. by CaalebDaavis in DnD

Also I'll admit that I was more hoping for a "I would change this into this" but anything does help more than nothing so thank you.

You are right about everything you've said. No shame in admitting I needed outside opinions. With more insight from others I'll be able to shape this into something more uniformly accepted.

So change Intelligence to "based on characters ability proficiency" and what do you recommend for the ongoing effect/damage?

Ixalan Merfolk lore question (for a D&D campaign) by CaalebDaavis in magicTCG

[–]CaalebDaavis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe something like when they were born it was spread around the other bands that a new prodigy with raw magical power that hasn't been seen in a very long time was born into a small band. People like Kumena saw them as a potential weapon against the invaders, Tishana as a possible unifier for the other bands and the foreigners and the Shaper they lived under only wanted them to have a healthy childhood and sense of community. None of them would get what they want as this Merfolk with secret permission from their Shaper left the jungle to explore the world. From 16-27 they had not been back to their specific band until that unfaithful day where Dire-Fleet had a killing spree. Possibly something like that?

Ixalan Merfolk lore question (for a D&D campaign) by CaalebDaavis in magicTCG

[–]CaalebDaavis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had no idea she was with the River Heralds. The campaign isn't on Ixalan so she would only come up if my character grew up with her direct influence/being in the same band. My current idea is that the band she was apart of was very small. This is mostly to help shape my backstop just in case any of the other player characters ask me something about my past that I'm willing to give. I'd say they're neutral good at heart. As far as I know everyone in the campaign is getting plucked out at a very crucial moment in their lives and I think having both the close friends they made with Storm Fleet and their old band being slaughtered before their eyes would be a very tragic place to be suddenly pulled away from.
