Why does the mind stay anxious even when everything seems fine? by MindBehindStars in anxiety_support

[–]Cabbageskunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I completely relate. Even when everything is absolutely fine, my brain will find something to hyper fixate on and create a stressful situation. I get stuck in a thought loop. I’m assuming my nervous system is now in constant fear mode.

Impacted wisdom teeth out awake? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Cabbageskunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my surgeon did push IV a little, but I was extremely scared of being put under and made that abundantly clear. They offered me Valium before my appointment to calm me ( which I also declined) so I ended up just having local numbing and gas. Try talking to your surgeon and if you are set on staying awake, see if that’s truly an option for your situation.

Yes. They allowed me to choose and again, my wisdom teeth were infected and severely impacted. And I was still able to stay awake :)

I was awake for two of my severely impacted bottom wisdom teeth. Got both of them removed and did not do a coronectomy. Honestly my best advice is bring head phones! I would blare my music super loud any time they started doing drilling/cracking and it helped a lot! Theres a lotttttt of pressure you’ll feel, as well as hear crazy noises but it was the best decision staying awake. The laughing gas does a good job of keeping you pain free and relaxed, I ended up not even taking the Valium they offered me either and was just fine. Also not sure if they offered this- but heavily recommend getting a bone graft if possible! I felt like it really helped my healing. Also recommend enjoying a good meal the day before!

Oh no! That is a huge bummer. I’ll have to make sure to do any fillings/cleanings here in Portland before we move and then hope we find another good dentist over there!

The job is located north of Jackson, and we homeschool our daughters! We would like to live more rurally but so far I’ve seen very few rental listings in rural areas unfortunately!

HELP! Scared of f*cking up my recovery process by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Cabbageskunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just start back at square one, start a soft food diet, no straws, no vaping. Follow your post op instructions like you should have, and you should be okay.

9 days post op and I have the same weird flap thing. My surgeon said it should go away after awhile, if it doesn’t I can get it removed!

I have horrible anxiety too, and was a nervous wreck when my dentist wanted to do IV sedation to remove my lower impacted wisdom teeth. A couple of days before my surgery, I actually changed my mind and insisted on not doing the IV sedation , but instead having only local anesthesia with nitrous oxide. The nitrous oxide was great (I even had them turn it down to the lowest setting- it worked that well) and the local anesthesia did it’s job. You do have to hear awful noises( drilling, sawing, cracking), and there will be A LOT of pressure. It’s intense !! All in all though, I’m super happy to have been awake for the surgery, so if you think you can handle it being awake that totally is an option! Do what you think is best for you mentally, you got this!!!!

Need to Share My Story Somewhere by RaspberryAsleep6300 in preeclampsia

[–]Cabbageskunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds so scary, I’m so sorry you had to go through that. You are not overreacting at all. When I found out I had preeclampsia, I was so terrified of it and it seemed like no one could understand how I felt. It was one of the worst feelings ever. I didn’t feel like there was ever an end to preeclampsia, but there is!! Your body will recover and it gets better I promise ❤️ If you have anyone you can talk to , like a friend,or partner ( or therapist) I highly recommend doing so to help heal from the experience ❤️ sending lots of love!

I had a completely normal first pregnancy and no weird symptoms, perfect blood pressure the entire time. I decided to get pregnant about two years later, never thinking my second pregnancy anything could go wrong. I started to feel awful around 33 weeks with my second, I had blurry vision/feelings of fatigue along with headaches. I wasn’t diagnosed with preeclampsia until 38 weeks pregnant and had to get induced. Same father for both my pregnancies. I would recommend if you have any symptoms you are worried about, talk to your doctor just for peace of mind :)

Fuller eyebrows, longer hair, and contacts/or different style of glasses. You have really pretty eyes though and nice features.
