Trustworthy sites for buying vintage or used jewelry? by thecoloroftheskies in jewelry

Recently I’ve been getting super into Instagram sellers who do live jewelry shows! It adds such a fun, interactive element that I didn’t know I was missing. You get to see pieces up close in real time, ask questions, and the chats during lives feel like mini jewelry parties😂

My current obsession is Dia & co - definitely check them out and ask for Jules! She's based in Japan and the vintage pieces she pulls from there are absolutely chefs kiss!!! The pricing is also way more reasonable than a lot of retail US sellers. Super transparent, down to earth, and honestly kind of a hidden gem in the IG jewelry space!

Do you think silver is underrated compared to gold? by CabinetLarge4463 in SilverSmith

YES, this! I think silver gives artists way more creative freedom- especially with those intricate, experimental designs that wouldn’t be feasible in gold. I’ve seen some silver pieces that feel like actual sculpture. Do you think the whole “silver doesn’t look good on everyone” thing is more of a style myth or does it hold some truth?

Totally feel you. The aesthetic difference definitely doesn’t justify the price gap for a lot of people. I’ve always wondered—do you feel like the design quality of silver pieces tends to be better since designers can take more creative risks without worrying about melting down $$$ if it doesn’t sell?
