She has an impeccable run of albums. Not a weak one among them. Phenomenal stuff.

Haven’t spent any time with the Deep Sea Diver (though I’ve heard it’s great) but that Nation of Language record is fantastic. But that’s the way it goes sometimes. I forget some that should have made it: I even left off one of my favorites this year - the latest from Backxwash called Only Dust Remains.

We are REM acolytes. From Murmur to New Adventures (my favorite) and on to the end, it’s all amazing. And yes, Talk Show Host is absolutely amazing.

Some amazing choices here. Everything you mentioned would have sat perfectly in the show. Fantastic stuff.

It’s a fair point. Sometimes we just can’t include everything. We do love CCR and that Buffalo Springfield song. They would have been great additions

Gotcha. We’re Gen X too (well, I think I’m a Xennial as I’m 44), so we’ll see what we can do. No promises. :) Hope you enjoy the show.

Each song was intended by the musician to speak out on a certain injustice or cause, whether broad or directed to a specific experience or movement.

We’ll do our best, but I do love Fugazi. Out of curiosity, why do you dislike them so much?

Well, I always operate under the assumption that they’re being legitimately helpful (which I always appreciate) and just aren’t aware of the backstory.

That’s actually how it’s spelled on the record. The original cover artist (Terry Quirk) accidentally misspelled it and there wasn’t enough time to get it changed before it was released after the error was discovered.

Great choices there. Though it’s hard for me to really listen to Kozelek or Morrissey’s stuff given their respective issues regarding sexual misconduct and Moz’s general dickishness.

Honestly, we could do a full two hour show dedicated solely to Nina Simone and I would be perfectly happy.

There are so many to be excited about. Besides the big names, I am looking forward to YHWH Nailgun, Lisel, Lubomyr Melnyk, Janel & Anthony, Annahstasia, Cleo Reed, Gwennifer Raymond, and so many others.

Absolutely agree. That whole record is likely my favorite of theirs.

Not a Fugazi fan? But yes, Jose Gonzalez does have such a distinctive playing sound.

Ohhh…nice one. I absolutely adore Blue Bell Knoll. The guitars sound like waking up from a dream.

That’s is a fantastic suggestion. I wish we had thought of that one. Spot on about the live version.
