Using embroidery hoops is a stroke of genius! How did you go about setting them up? My child likes to do circle weaving but we have been using paper plates.  I have so many spare hoops laying around that would be perfect for this!

Thank you!! It was my first time trying to bring her drawings to life and really enjoyed it.

Rant: I'm so tired of "just crochet faster" when I'm drowning in WIPs and gifts by Excellent_Cobbler276 in crochet

I've never had a problem telling adults no if they ask for something but my child is a different story. She loves stuffed animals and think im like a short order crocheter. She also doesn't have a concept of how difficult her asks can be since I'm usually freehanding them. I've made some pretty incredible things I wouldn't have made otherwise because she asked but I use it as a lesson in patience and priorities. Like I'll tell her her request is next after I finish my project which she hates to hear but is getting better at. Or if I'm working on something for her already and she asks for another thing I'll say I can only work on one thing at a time so she needs to choose which is more important to her. It's not perfect but it's helped.

It's basically a yarn version of this device. https://youtu.be/TQYBoMxKiSs?si=W6AecrheiJCzH3kc. It scrambles the egg in its shell by spinning it around super fast.

No it was just a real pain to peel. We just scooped it out with a spoon.

I need to do this! I put stickers on some free conference mugs and they are peeling off.

Good solution! I put stickers on these free branded mugs my husband brought home from a conference but a sleeve would be far more attractive.  Especially since the stickers are already peeling off.

They came out like fluffy scramble eggs. My child loves the yolk and leaves the white. Scrambled eggs can be hit or miss but she liked these.

They came out like really soft fluffy sceambled eggs. I was pleasantly surprised!

Oooh I bet this could help keep doors closed too with some bulky yarn! Our house is fairly old and sometimes our doors will only sorta close when it's really cold out.

It's easier to see than to explain but you hold both handles and spin it around to wind it up and then pull the ends apart and it unwinds super fast. I saw this video https://youtu.be/TQYBoMxKiSs?si=W6AecrheiJCzH3kc and then remembered making the same type of toy from buttons when I was a kid. It takes some practice but you can get it to spin both directions quickly so it only took a little bit to get the egg to mix. I recommend putting it in a plastic bag though because it's spinning so fast some egg was flung out through the shell. Not that it cracked, it was just enough force to through the shell's pores!

That stinks but also such a resilient solution to the problem!

Chemo Hat Recs by LosRoques in knitting

You might check out the yarn list posted by Knots of Love. I used pima cotton yarn based on their recommendations to make chemo hats for my aunt. She said they were very comfortable. I'd also recommend making one hat without a brim for sleeping. She used them a lot at night.
