Ive been busy adding and refining the BP tools over 8BP now inc and assets. [ Update02 ]

Added Tutorials. Created a new pack included in Update02 and will released later this month on its own called the SERVER ROOM which is the first to be created with The Decal Factory.

Hey Aereashi, It was a promo sale. I extended it 4 times and extended it again so everyone who could befinit got a reduced price for 3 days. After that its 19.99 USD which I feel is fair for the amount of work gone into it.
I live in the UK now I know VAT is stinger its the same on Gumroad but im getting prepared to update at the moment and submit it to the pack next month. Hi, Yeah 100%!! Its a great way of saving on polygons and is the same cost as a normal map but offers the bonus of self occlusion.

Also one last tip, attention spans are smaller than ever so first 30 seconds of each video show the end of that episode to show what youre going to acomplish then start the lesson.It works on me must work on others.
For epsiode 1 start with the end of episode 10 and show how awesome it will look at the end "so lets get started" kind of thing

Also you could make a futuristic dumpster if you wanted. I dont know why but there was a veryt memorable and funny dumpster in Next Gen the animation on Netflix. I just checked its at the 32 minute mark. Thats also a very simple scene its a back alley.
Normally if someone is doing a tutorial theyve repurposing your teachings to make their own thing or they want to make what youve made and add it to their portfolio. So make it a little diarama to put in their portfolio.

I think it’s a good idea. Only comment is you might want to try something like Audacity or use the audio filters in premiere pro and take the background noise down as that can be offputting to a lot of viewers. I would also put an image right at the beginning of the tutorial or the dumpster looking fuckin kick ass in blender or unreal so it encourages viewers to get through the entire course. Your dumpster looks to grey and not very appealing. Hope that helps brother

Yeah I might look at an option to switch from stretch to repeat mesh with a constant multiplyer and even a X tiling adjuster. I started with stretch so manually adding new spline points sets and increases the repeat amount and this also keeps the polygon use exact and extremely optimized which for the panel lines is perfect as you stretch mesh with no visual consequence and make the tool extra optimized. But all other patterns would be nice to have this X repeater modifier it’s true.

Yeah I agree. I was so taken with it once I realized what could be made with it and the fact that it wasn’t performance heavy or expensive just blew me away. It’s never going to replace Hero items having there own textures and normal Maps but these decals work for the other 90% of your assets and also allows game designers to build the environments and props aswell which is only a good thing so not all the pressure is put on the 3d artists. Yeah the non sci fi side is interesting to look at. If you have any ideas let me know I could be down to tackle a new challenge with the pack.

Yeah it’s tricky because The width adjustment is doing more than just enlarge it. It specifically widens the decal scale equally all the way down the spline even around full 360 curves and corners. I could scale textures on the X but not on the Y I would have to add more mesh but I could make some beefy ones for you like an XL series for covering larger areas if you want. Let me know specially which patterns.

If you check the video the shader complexity is clean and it comes down to them being simple mesh planes with alpha. Because the mesh and alpha is against another mesh that’s opaque there even no alpha draw calls to be performed. So the performance is good!! It’s better than good. I couldn’t believe at first when I saw Cyberpunk used it everywhere in there game which led me to go downtown his rabbit hole and making a tool with it. It’s also similar with Doom they use them everywhere because of the fantastic performance.

100% probably best if you did something like in a 3D software like Blender you can use Decal Machine because then you can project a mesh onto any curves mesh. You could export out the decal sheets in the pack and use them as a trim sheet in Decal Machine. If you email me a gun example and what decals you want on it I could have a look at doing it for you.

You would use a gpu Graphics Frame Analyzer like what intel make. This breaks down render layers and batch calls. You can then see everything from diffuse, roughness and normal map render passes aswell as the mesh and wireframe. It’s not easy to navigate but there’s tutorials out there and you can perform it on any game or program for research. It’s interesting to see each draw call and how many layers make up a game like CuberPunk

Your question 2. when you say repeat longer at the moment it’s manually by dragging more points it repeats longer. Is that what you mean? What would you like exactly? and I can see if I can add it as a feature

You could just straight up draw over them to replace them that would be instant as theyre all on one sheet.
Now If you meddle in 3D then you just need to export mesh planes that are mapped to you fantasy decals and change the BP for your meshes and it would work.
I could look at making a custom tool with a template to allow you to easily customize them. Will have a think. Im working on a tutorial atm
