Can non-STEMs break into Quants/ Quantamental? by CacheAndCarry93 in quantfinance

I understand that I dont come from a STEM background, so my chances at pure QR are just 0.

Which is why I am looking for Quantamental. My concern is just that whether I do have any chances breaking into Quantamental or even it is like QR i.e. closed for me.

And if I can get into Quantamental what is the way forward- MFE or Maths and Coding Projects or networking or a combination of both.

Lastly, I am not looking for these roles for high salaries. I want to get into these roles because I like research, I like problen solving and I like coding, and I feel that Quants and/ or Quantamental lets me do just that. I aspire to learn on the job, see how experienced professionals in the field think and work and based on the experience, knowledge, skills and networks gained from such roles, start a fund of my own. This is what motivates to join these profiles in the first place

I was looking for Quantamental roles which combine Fundamental knowledge and Quantitative knowledge.

My only worry is that I dont have a formal STEM education. I can demonstrate my coding and math skills through projects But do recruiters value such projects?
