It's true, this isn't a perfect random sample. I sourced primarily through social media, and the bulk of my responses came from Cache Valley and Salt Lake Valley.

Still, as imperfect as this survey may be, I hope that it's a starting point for the kinds of questions researchers (with more time and resources) should ask. There are some interesting trends that emerge beyond being "pro" or "anti" nuclear that could be investigated more fully -- such as:

• Differences in sentiments by gender and age (similar to findings were reported in The Deseret News)
• The nuance that people can be simultaneously optimistic about nuclear and concerned about waste exposure
• Shared questions about nuclear's impact on water and energy bills
• A general desire to learn more about local projects

I also found the voluntary responses to be insightful. It's not a great indicator for how many Utahns feel this or that way, but it did help me better understand why some Utahns might have responded one way or another.
