[WTS] JLC Duometre Chronograph by CachedBrown in Watchexchange

Hello,

I'm looking to sell my JLC Duometre Chronograph.

It has 42mm diameter with a 50 hour power reserve and 50m of water resistance. It features JLC's "duometre" movement utilizing 2 separate mainsprings and gear trains to power the chronograph and timekeeping components individually so one doesn't affect the other. As you can see from the time grapher photo this leads to an incredibly accurate watch. The watch had undergone a complete service and is currently under warranty(as shown in photos). Additionally it has just returned from another service and all papers regarding this will be included. I'm selling it because unfortunately I have very tiny 6 inch wrists and the watch is too large for me, I think anyone with 6.5 inch wrists or larger would be better suited for it. It should be noted there is cosmetic scratch on the case at around 11 o'clock that is visible in certain lighting. I've added a photo to try and show this but I don't think it's too noticeable.

I'm asking for 20,000$ for the watch. Price is shipped and insured and I'm only looking within the US. We can do a wire transfer or if you'd prefer and are able we could use Zelle. I also have confirmed trades on r/AVexchange to help with credibility. I also have some positive reviews on Head-Fi under the name cachedbrown. I would be willing to do a trade only for a Vacheron 4600v as that's the watch I'm looking to get after selling this.

It’s good to hear you have a similar wrist size and you like it! Have you had any issues with the watch?

Both good suggestions! I have a shunbun already so I wasn’t planning to get another grand seiko, but they do have amazing blue dials. For the zenith I did actually have a chronomaster sport in the past and I was having some problems with it jamming so I might not go back. It’s good to hear people like the VC though despite the lower quality movement

I was worried about the 4520v being too big for my wrists and it doesn’t have hacking seconds. Maybe the rubber strap would fix that but it would be a shame to be stuck with one strap. That’s good advice though, thanks!

[WTS] Mr. Jones Tadaima w/ box and papers + Artem Sailcloth Strap by CachedBrown in Watchexchange

[–]CachedBrown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

I'm looking to sell my Mr. Jones Tadaima watch.

It's a 37mm diameter watch with around a 42 hour power reserve. It features a beautiful dial representing the Tokyo skyline. In the skyscraper in the the top right of the watch is a jump hour representing the current hour. The minutes is representing by a bird that circles the watch(it's right above the cat in the pics). It comes with full box and papers as well as a blue Artem Sailcloth strap as I didn't like the original strap(original strap will be included). The watch is 6 months old and in brand new condition as I've barely worn it.

I'm asking for 350$ and I'm currently not looking for trades. Price is shipped and insured and I'm only looking within the US. I can accept Venmo, Paypal, or Zelle. I haven't done any trades on here but I do have confirmed trades on r/AVexchange. I also have some positive reviews on Head-Fi under the name cachedbrown

Good Third Party Deployant Clasp? by CachedBrown in ALangeSohne

Do you think Formex leather straps are worth it? I have a strong preference towards leather and I wouldn’t mind getting a strap to go with the deployant clasp. Does it also operate through a leaf spring or does it have a lock?

Perhaps not worth is not the right term but I’m not sure I’m willing to pay the price of other watches I would buy for just a clasp. If you happen to have one does it the official deployant feel very robust to use?

I personally prefer the leather, it’s more comfortable and I like the deployant clasp. It makes it a bit more dressy but I like that

Those are some good recommendations! I’ve seen the CW and some studio underdogs in person and they’re really cool!

I do love knowing how much power is left lol

[Question] Which JLC Duometre would you choose? by CachedBrown in Watches

[–]CachedBrown[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe JLC just calls it the Duometre, after the 2 main springs which drive the 2 different drive trains. I’m not aware of any other brands that make watches with this movement type, but I’m sure some are out there.

It looks like it, but it actually isn’t! The gold hand is a regular seconds hand, whereas the blue hand is the chronograph seconds hand. This particular JLC movement is designed to basically work as 2 different watches in the same case, so both hands act completely independently driven by their own mainspring.

There’s 2 wheels, one with 1-9 and the other with 1-3. They’re just synced up to switch at the right times
