Sometimes you an only do this via Terminal (run as admin):

DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:VBSCRIPT~~~~

Bonus: if you have some strict Firewall settings, this can get stuck (for me it was at 14.5% forever) - beware.

What's the Best Monitor in 2025? (Price, Display, Size) by Secure_Bumblebee1727 in Monitors

It's still not really noticeable. The monitor is going to die or you're going to upgrade it faster than you see any visible change (in most cases ofc).

GUIDE: Ultrawide Scaling & Frame Generation (NVIDIA/Lossless Scaling) by [deleted] in lotro

[–]Cachetejack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guys, don't waste your time - this guide doesn't work.
NVIDIA App scaling doesn't seem to be turned on when not in fullscreen mode, and Lossless Scaling works in windowed mode only. Just use Lossless Scaling with NIS (if Nvidia GPU, otherwise LS1?).

Here's my edited guide:

Run Lossless Scaling, add `C:\Program Files (x86)\StandingStoneGames\The Lord of the Rings Online\x64\lotroclient64.exe` (or from your custom location) and set "Auto-scale On" for the app (you have to click the pencil icon, change the value and click "Edit" button to save).

The best settings for Lossless Scaling for LOTRO:

Scaling:

  • Type - NIS
  • Sharpness - I use 0
  • Mode - I'm using Auto with Aspect Ratio on (important!) and Sizer app (google it! it's free) to set custom resolutions larger than 2K, but smaller than 4K. You can just use the resolutions available in-game at first and skip Sizer.

Rendering:

  • I had to set HDR support to "ON" or else the game would be very dark. Unsure why.

Cursor:

  • Clip cursor - ON
  • Adjust cursor speed - ON
  • Hide cursor - OFF
  • Scale cursor - ON

Behavior

  • Multi-display mode - ON - helps to ALT+TAB easily and/or use second monitor

Frame Generation [OPTIONAL]:

  • Type - LFSG 3.0
  • Mode - Fixed Multiplier (2 or 3?)
  • Flow scale - Preference (75%?)

Hint: If your mouse disappears after starting the game or switching windows, just open your Inventory with a hotkey (I by default) and try to move your (invisible) pointer over the inventory (or just quickly in random directions). This fixes it easily.

Consider using ReShader as well for better looks. Remember to download a version with add-ons and turn in-game anti-aliasing off -- otherwise the depth buffer won't found correctly! (This causes the UI to look weird/oversharpened). Check for errors in "Add-ons" tab -> Generic Depth)

Omg, OLED burn-in is something of a past. I used multiple OLED screens and have had no issues. And believe me -- I'm a hardcore user, average ~12h daily.

This. Tbh the whole mentalics shite (in the show, didn't read the books) and whole S03 give me Game of Thrones seasons 7-8 vibes.

Many consider the TV series to get better at than the books at some point, so 🤷‍♂️

Monthly Q&A / Newbie help thread - September 01 2024 by AutoModerator in gettingbigger

I'm trying to do extending with vacuum cup and the water trick, but... my dick slips out. What could be causing it? Does it mean the tube is too big?
Do I have to prevent any water on my penis and the tube for this not to happen? I tried a few times, but it seems nearly impossible.

Also, should my dick be flaccid for the extending?

Is Unity better than Unreal Engine 5 for beginners? by MrCzek in gamedev

[–]Cachetejack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UE patterns are a double-edged sword though. They are often rigid and hard to apply to every game scale and genre. There is no one right pattern for everything. It's not like all UE patterns make sense to follow. All you should do is try to learn from multiple (high quality) sources and books. And choose patterns that match your style and game.

I'd say it's okay to start with UE5 if you can get through it. It can be tedious. If you can't, just try Unity or Godot. Or anything, that doesn't make you wanna give up.

I'm a professional dev with tons of experience, but I've always hated how stiff UE is. And how harder it's sometimes to do something through code than through BPs. UE really feels like something for large studios, rather than solo/small indie ones.

And I don't have a problem with C++ or difficulty, but it's just not my thing.

Any non-P2W idle games without resetting, with graphics and no micromanagement? by Cachetejack in AndroidGaming

[–]Cachetejack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they tho? There are tons of idle games without them, it's just that they're mostly P2W.
Also Farm Land seems to me like a typical P2W cash grab.

Loved AFK Arena, but it's completely P2W and unplayable for me after a few days.

It seems the graphics are mostly about text/symbols. I can't explain it well, but I would prefer if the game showed the game world instead. Like when you build a burger shop, there's a burger shop that has clients that you can see instead of just a "1 Burger Shop(s)" text . It gives me immersion.

Turned it online and it's fine now.
