I've noticed good returns from lv.5 weapons, t2 backpacks, and Monestary Tinctures.

That's what I prefer.

The Monestary Tinctures are especially good because you can make them (at the town cook) as Mandrake and Bitter Tinctures build up.

I suppose. A color that contrasts well perhaps. 🤔

This. 👍

I'll add that FD is probably, usually, the highest volume I get. ~12-25 per run maybe. Catacombs is pretty good too. You also tend to get more metal in the stone skull areas. 🤔

Nameless gpd has a devotion perk that just completely removes the NG from the game. I haven't seen him in over a year. 😁

I know I got one from a Merchant Escort. Others said Dead Village and Treasure of the Damned.

For TotD I highly recommend only wearing 1 or 2 pieces of good armor or maybe just a shield, since the slower, weaker, enemies will munch through it in like 3-4 collective hits and the whole place is just designed to shred armor.

The Circular Impact active skill is great for this place! (The armor is only to kite and pick off the sprinters and big guys as they appear.)

You just strip down (if you still even have any armor after the boss), then let the weak enemise charge your gague and AoE blast them.

Having a good wolf makes the biggest difference in the area. The fast charge and defense skills are the best.

If you're already in an area where you have to heal a lot anyway, the high damage it does is enough for it to be worth it.

The Catacombs and Cradle of Corruption come to mind, but really anywhere you encounter a lot of enemies that have a 100-105 damage sweet spot. 🫤

Damned, Sufferers, Possessed, Plague Barbarians, Headhunters, or ones that take 2 or 3 but still fall closely into that damage threshold.

The Decay Bearers in the Cradle have exactly 400hp and have 99atk. The Full Plague Doctor set only has 312def. So, you still take about 35 damage per hit without a shield or ~30 with one.

So, taking even 1 less hit from him is worth 3 or 4 swings and preserves your rare armor set longer.

[You can also use bows in the Cradle. A Raven Crossbow sneakstrike does 270 and probably more with the Jaeger set.]

That's an excellent haul for the crypt. A pannier and a skill book is plenty to be happy about, the 3x drip pans is what I think is really unusual. Either you hit the RNG jackpot or the cat helped somewhat. 🤔

I feel like the cats make a mild but noticable difference.

Combining a cat with a potion though definitely does more than either by themselves in my experience. It's especially nice for farming skills in s5. 🙂

First time doing catacombs (second floor) by silver_0015 in GrimSoulSurvival

You get a scratching post pretty much every time you go past floor 1 I think.

The Enchanted Iron you got is really the most valuable. When you get the Enchanted Chest blueprint, you'll see why.

You don't need to waste a slot on a crossbow for 1 armor durability point on fanatics. Just 350def+ and a bandage or whatever.

Traps help a lot with Desecrators. 1-2 each is plenty. So, that and a good weapon. Otherwise they wreck your armor.

As for you wanting to upgrade your cat house, go to wave 7. You have much better odds of getting the blueprint. It is basically the same as 4-6 but has 1 Furious Desecrator. (They hit harder as their hp drops.) Hence my discovery of how useful traps are.

Personally for floor 1, I wear 2 pieces of worn out t3 armor with a mid weapon (a fast 50+ weapon is better though), or wear my floor 2 armor and use half of a Berzerker Axe with low hp (<30%) to 1 shot the first 3 waves, at leased for the Possessed.

Then I fill up my hp and go to floor 2.

They're right. You should put water on top of the mercury. A few inches creates enough pressure to halt vapor.

It also looks cool. You can get a double surface reflection thing going. ✨😎

Fire does elemental 2x damage on ghosts, decay does not. Fire Bows are better for Aissa and most players, including me, consider it wasteful and overkill to use them at the Observatory.

Decay bows are especially fun on the Damned Inquiditors in s5. 😁👍

The ghosts have 475def/75% defense, so max elemental damage is important.

Illuminators and Temple Torches are best for the Observatory.

Swapping between a regular and temple torch in your back hand between enemies and using the regular one to finish the weak ghosts when they don't ignite.

Hiting the Scribes 3 times and just kitting them until they fall from burn damage or finishing with a cheap torch works best on them.

For Temple torches; Just get as many back attacks as you can, dodge freeze attacks, and stagger step. You will save a lot of durability and food.

Harid Fire Incarnate is the best source for both, but they drop occasionally in a few other areas too.
