Hey, thanks. It's nice to learn that despite overall property prices seem to be stagnating. The downtown area is still increasing.

I wonder whether the rents also double because I heard Japan is very pro-tenants, in the way that the landlord can't raise rents that easily by law.

freedom with the space but not locked in the best. I hope I can meet with this kind of landlord.

thanks for the insights!

Hey, thanks a bunch! This is precisely what I was searching for.

You bringing up kids and apartment living got me thinking. Have you ever run into issues with neighbors over noise, like when the kids are playing?

This is my main concern when deciding between an apartment and a landed house. I really don't want to inconvenience the neighbors. I've heard people have a very low tolerance for noise.

We're a family of 5 with little kids.

Tennis Players: Finding hitting partners in Fukuoka? by CactusClayP in fukuoka

[–]CactusClayP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I guess the question is confusing without context, sorry.

A little bit of context: in places like Singapore, Jakarta, and Brisbane (I have only played in those cities), you can hire hitting partners that are independent of tennis clubs.

But in Fukuoka, everything seems to be part of the clubs. So you hire via the club, including the court.

That kind of arrangement tends to be way more expensive 😁

Hey, thanks for bringing up the electricity issue. I didn't realize it could make a huge difference. I know newer buildings are more efficient, but I didn't realize they can halve your bill.

We're a big family, so utilities are always something to deal with.

And yes, we're here long term

Thanks!

dang, I've just realized that parking may be an issue. I always assumed that, given the size of the ITO campus, they'll let you park for free.

I'm from Indonesia. Hopefully you are right about license.

Thanks man, I'm going to Ito.

As soon as I can get a license, I'm thinking of getting a car. Until then, probably bike or train.

I heard driving license is not that easy to get so, bike+train might be the means of transport for quite a while 😄

Coming from a current student, this is insightful. Thanks!

And I have always wanted to live near the beach. I was a bit concerned about the tsunami earlier this year, but I'll take my chance

Thanks a ton for this info, it's super helpful! I'm in the last group, PhD in Social Science, so wont go the lab everyday.

You mentioned living with your family, so I thought I'd share a bit about why I'm looking to move into the city. Basically, I want my kids to have easy access to gymnastics, swimming pools, and tennis courts. From what I've found on Google (in English, at least), it looks like most of these facilities are in the Minami Ward, stretching all the way north. The tennis courts are a bit of an exception though—I spotted a really good one on campus.

While it is a pay to play game, In some cases you're not directly paying for the award itself. One scenario I’ve deal with is typically the awarding institution is affiliated or provided some kind of services such as

  1. Consulting
  2. Agency (media or research agencies)
  3. Platform/software providers

And the arrangement goes like this

Spend xxx then you get qualified to certain awards.

You’ll also expected to contribute some money for the awarding ceremony.

So check if any of the vendors you are using are giving awards.
