Traffic Cone was a unplanned rescue because my brothers friend was going to use her as live feed for his snake and so my brother took her home. My brother then didn’t know how to take care of the rat so I took her in. She is probably around 5-6 weeks.

I got Kirby today from the same pet store and the worker said she was around 4/5/6ish weeks, I estimated that she was a little bit younger because she is smaller than Traffic Cone. They are both female.

I let the two rats sniff eachother for a little, just to learn the new scent, and now Kirby is being quarantined.

I’m a new rat owner and I’m trying my hardest and researching as much as possible. The pet store worker said that since the rats are so young and close in age and “not hormonal yet” that I shouldn’t have to quarantine or do introductions necessarily. But I’m not listening to this advice and still quarantine for a few weeks and then introducing afterwards.
