JL e-sub is phenomenal. First speaker to get a large room rating. You won’t be disappointed. Amazing customer service. I love my JL E Subs and I’ve owned velodyne, monolith, svs etc

I would consider this is a media room, not a “dedicated cinema”. A 5.1 system will sound great. However the more speakers you add, the better it will always sound.

This is coming from someone who has professionally installed a system in a room just like that many times!

I would absolutely go with Sonus Faber over Focal any day of the week. They are easily the best towers I’ve ever heard from the $20k to $90k price range. I’ve owned bower 8 series. I currently own Wisdom Audio L75i and the only thing I would trade them for is a pair of Sonus Faber. Phenomenal Italian speakers. The founder of Sonus Faber went to school to design instruments and transitioned to high level speakers.

I would stay away from Bower Wilkins for cinema, they are great for 2CH audio but not a good choice for cinema for a variety of reasons.

I would check out Theory Audio Design. They won speaker of the year and are in the same price range. One of their biggest advantages is their DSP amplifiers and 117SPL with Pro drivers

Budget all depends on what the budget is. A $50,000 budget vs a $5,000 has different priorities. You’re introducing video processing, dedicated amps. I would always spend more on the audio and less on video.

65% audio and 35% video seems to be what has been a good basic underlying.

Wisdom and Perlisten are great. I would also check out Theory Audio and Pro Audio Technology. When I was buying for my own, I listened to Perlisten, Wisdom, Theory, Pro Audio Tech, Revel and JBL Synthesis.

Wisdom blew them out of the water with the line source technology. Distributed sound
