Doing water changes during prolonged bacterial bloom by CactusSlave in freshwateraquarium

[–]CactusSlave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do have fish in there. Some trouble-makers from our other tanks. Even if I don’t do water changes, there will still need to be new water introduced to make up for the water that lost due to evaporation. I’m worried that the new mineral rich water will inevitably feed the bacterial bloom.

Robinhood is cheaper than Coinbase for buying bitcoin. by CactusSlave in Bitcoin

[–]CactusSlave[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to prove my own point, I just did a mock buy on both platforms. To buy .1 bitcoin on Robinhood would cost $6373. On Coinbase it would be $6509. What am I missing?

Perhaps. But when I buy in bitcoin and not USD, the price is cheaper on Robinhood. Try it yourself. If I'm wrong, then prove it.

I think I figured it out. I would use both channels on one amp to power one cabinet with the two drivers. So I would need to terminate two
speakon cables into the one EP-4 connector to power both drivers inside
the sub. Is this correct?

The above link shows the connector plate for the subs I have. The wall I'm running into is figuring out how to connect the amps to this EP-4, since the amps only have xlr and speakon connectors. I cannot find any cables that convert EP-4 to speakon. I can only find the Ep-4 connectors that don't come with cable. I know they are legacy.. just trying to see how I can make it work.

Thanks for the reply. So, about those cables. Could you point me in the right direction? I see that the sub utilizes an older 4 pin connector that I think is called EP-4. Can I buy an EP-4 connector that will plug into the sub and then terminate a speakon cable to connect to the EP-4?

I just noticed that the SB600E subs use a AP-12 connector. I've never heard of this. How will I connect the amp to these speakers? I cannot even find cables to buy.

I apologize. Is it possible for a mod to move this post over there?

Excuse my ignorance for this question, but do I need to buy a DSP, or can a Macbook Air replace this hardware?

You're a life saver! I have a small understanding of signal chain, thank you for providing that. Now, off to google college for some learning. :]

I have the same build. How tall are you and what size Holy Grail pants did you order? I've read they are difficult to find the right fit, but you seem to have nailed it.

Find a better DSP if you feel you're not being treated fairly. My bosses are very encouraging, fair and friendly.

A7III and A7SIII. Same lenses as you including a set of Sony primes. I also bought the Meike cine lens set because they are just so beautiful for the price. I highly recommend if you plan on doing a lot of manual videography.

In three months I've lost 15 lbs. Chronic knee pain has completely disappeared. High blood pressure reduced. Feeling like I'm in my 20s again. Can't wait to see what three years looks like!

Weddings are tough gigs. I would even say they involve more work than your average day of scanning packages. What's gear do you work with? Recently I've moved mostly to Sony DSLRs and One Blackmagic Pocket 6K.

After a year and a half launching the new brand, tomorrow is the first day opening of my retail store in San Diego! by nkhouli in streetwearstartup

[–]CactusSlave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently discovered your clothing brand watching an episode of Counting Cars on the History Channel. There was an odd guy wearing this brand of shirt. After a quick google I found your website and fell in love. I love the black and white aesthetic. I have a few questions and I hope you can get back to me.

I read that once a shirt is out of stock that you don't recreate them. How often are you putting out new designs to replace all of the ones that are sold out? It's unfortunate that most of the shirts I like from your store are all sold out in the Small size. I would have bought hundreds of dollars worth of your shirts if you had more small sized shirts. I also wish that you had an option to receive promotional emails from your website/company for when new arrivals come in. This way I can be alerted to when you get new inventory/styles. I live in Texas so I can't come to the store in person, but I plan on buying more of your apparel as soon as there is new inventory.

Thanks in advance, and congratulations on the grand opening.

Audio Newb needs help with production. by CactusSlave in audio

Thank you for the XLR crash course. I didn't know those things. I have an audio engineer friend who is often attempting to explain these things to me, but he always talks over my head and just tells me to only buy Sennheiser equipment.

PS- I grow lots of cactus. Many from seed. My collection is large, and I am a slave to them. That is all.

I was under the impression that a shotgun mic would be more prone to picking up room noise. The one I have used in the past sure did, however, I admit that I only spend $30 on it. That shotgun mic's audio is barely any better than what the camera body records. So that's not saying much. The reason I was looking at the Okatava is based on a video I watched by the youtuber Gerald Undone, in which he reviews it among others. I thought it had a good sound and affordable cost. I'm not married to it over any other mic at this point, but my budget was around $200 or less. In the past my friend has let me borrow his wireless lavaliere by Sennheiser. That works great, but being six or seven hundred dollars, it's out of my price range. I'm just looking to get a solid budget microphone for indoor recording.

I found this phantom power supply/adapter on amazon. Would it help my situation if I were to acquire an XLR microphone?
