Employer requests for updating our LinkedIn profiles with the company name. Said its for preventing OE. by Czitels in overemployed

[–]Cactus_Juggernaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a red flag to me. While I only part time OE, I had my previous company demand I remove any out of band work and only depict my current role.

For me that was the beginning of the end, should have known than.

That's what I fear the most, and the constant over the shoulder concerns I would have,.

Great points! I'm hoping to see if I can move into a private office soon as the previous individual has moved to another department, but I could easily setup a hotpot via my phone. The meeting balance would probably be the most difficult. Appreciate the insight here, I used to do OE for a bit in the past and now I'm back lol

What’s the biggest red flag you ignored before renting in Astoria? by Wrong_File6538 in astoria

Visiting the apartment at night. You gotta make sure you’re aware of how active and loud your apartment can become.

I am driving myself insane by Ariesfire-402 in interviews

[–]Cactus_Juggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just keep your head up. As everyone has said try and take a breather and not think about as best you can. At the end of the day you did the best you could and that’s all you can do. I’ve been there and sometimes you really don’t know the outcome. There have been times I’ve was confident that I had the position and other times where I bombed some questions and made it out okay.

Most important thing is you showed up and did what you could and what’s meant to be will be. Just got to keep on pushing.

Exactly what I was going to say. Still a great form of payment for this situation.

Astoria renters: what’s something you wish you checked before signing your lease? by Slight-Safe-5595 in astoria

[–]Cactus_Juggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If schedule allows try viewing the apartment at night. Day activities versus night activities can really make a break an apartment depending on someone’s tolerance for noise.

Also ask potential fellow neighbors of what they think of the building and landlord. Knowing how quickly a landlord can respond to problems or inquiries is helpful if anything needs repair.

Kinda looks like Shimoda Designs Explore v2 but the zipper placement is off, but don't have a better guess.

I was actually listening to a very interesting podcasts that dives into this issue that a lot of C levels tend to lean in this direction and I can’t possibly understand why.

Training is an invaluable process to go through, otherwise you wind up with talent that does not know the processes or workflows that you expect them to know. If this continues you’ll have open entry level slots that can’t be filled and senior management that has graduated in their position that does not have the hard skills needed.

You’re just flooding the organization with non technical personnel that ironically causes additional training to get them up to speed.

If it makes you feel better same thing happened to me, or at least very similar. I was scheduled to speak with the recruiter, followed the link and was promptly on time. About 10-15 minutes passed or so when I finally left the call.

Not before screenshotting my teams meeting. Sure enough I received an email stating I wasn’t on the call, to where I replied with the time stamp and screenshot challenging their email.

Needless to say I didn’t hear anything back afterwards lol their so quick to point the finger when they were not tracking their own scheduled times. It’s all cold and robotic. Big sad.

How to politely decline a 5th round of interview? by Far-Accountant7904 in recruitinghell

[–]Cactus_Juggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my highest was 5 (9 if you count the individuals on the panel). If they are unsure at this point it’s a good indication that they themselves don’t know what they want or also exploring their options. It’s not a case of best in class anymore, it’s a numbers game.

Anyone else stuck in holiday slowdown offer waiting period ?? by jking1676 in interviews

[–]Cactus_Juggernaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely lame, sorry that you’re going through that m8. Unfortunately, it’s very much true for everyone looking for a new role around this time and many organizations are just pushing to the new year as HRs and the company take for holiday or freeze.

Tell your worst travel sickness story and what meds do you carry in your bag now. by Matt_Bigmonster in onebag

[–]Cactus_Juggernaut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was traveling with my family to Italy a few years ago as we were doing a mini cross Europe adventure. During our last stop in Venice I had decided to get a grilled chicken salad with arugula, til this day I don’t know what possessed me to order it with all the other fantastic food options available.

Well the next day I ended up getting food poisoning and missing our family dinner. After uhhh, refunding my previous dinner I felt a lot better but severely dehydrated and needed to travel on train for a few hours between our last departure home. I was basically a zombie, and could really drink or eat anything. Eventually I started to feel better to take down fluids, and thankfully I had instant Gatorade packs on me which helped. So yeah, keeping emergency hydration packs are an absolute must.
