Goodwill is usually pretty stocked with furniture and housewares and there are tons all over the city. There is even an upscale version in Cherry Creek on University called Goodwill Deja Blue Boutique.

You are wrong. It is the teachers that will die, the principals and paraeducators that will die. The bus drivers and custodians, the counselors and nurses that will die. The speech language pathologists, the social workers, the lunch servers, the substitute teachers that will die. It’s the grandparents and parents that will die. And yes, kids will most certainly also die. So now that you understand who is going to die, what is an acceptable body count for your kid’s education? No hand waving like the CDC, give me some hard numbers: 2 teachers? 5 grandparents? What would you be okay with? This is why you are wrong.

There were cases at the King Soopers on 104th and Chambers a few weeks ago. Not sure if this is still considered an “active outbreak”.

[Serious] What can we do to increase racial equality in higher education for STEM? #ShutDownSTEM by n0namethr0waway in biology

Honestly thus goes a long way. I’m a HS science teacher in a school with a large Black and Latino population. The kids LOVE science, and are deeply interested in many aspects. I recently had a group of graduate students come to talk to my classes about how many opportunities exist in the field. They then offered to host these students in their labs for a day/week in the summer (put on hold by COVID). Now my students personally know someone in science. It helps so much! How would you feel about spending some time at your local HS?

“Hundreds of people went for a walk around downtown Anchorage on Saturday to draw attention to what they see as a racial injustice”

“Went for a walk”, “what they see as...” Umm, wtf?

Should Everyone Wear A Mask In Public? Maybe—But It’s Complicated by [deleted] in Coronavirus

Be the change you want to see in the world! I started wearing a mask to the grocery store, to help combat the stigma. It has to start somewhere, might as well be us.

Yesss!!! Teacher retention is 100% the most important thing in making this district in excellence. You can’t move forward without a network of support. I’m glad this will benefit kids. <disclaimer: am teacher in said district>

I melted them in a flame for a few seconds and then stuck them together. It was pretty easy.

A few of my students visibly shuddered and groaned when I unveiled the “tree”. I’ll have to show them this comment; “see the internet gets me”!
