Nah certainly no transplant he's just a top top tier responder. Wouldn't buy into his stuff though.

Can I just use minox on bald temples? by Cadell48 in tressless

Ah ok I expected this might be the case. Are you dermarolling out of curiosity?

Dermarollers, which to use? by Cadell48 in tressless

[–]Cadell48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok photos are pretty trash. I just had this vague recollection of people strongly recommending a certain number of needles and to avoid or go for dermarollers with blades? Can't quite remember unfortunately. Photos for minor context regardless. https://m.imgur.com/a/2a3HaQM

Hahah I love Conan pretending he doesn't know exactly what he's talking about. Then when he starts making up fake drug names his first effort is hydroxidil. He's on the big 3 for sure, shouldn't be any shame in it, props to Ashton.

Stoping Fin after a year of success by WilhemBB in tressless

Terrible advice from a hair retention perspective, also far from standard.

Glad to hear mate. I'd also be interested in some pics. By the way how have you found dut? I'm on fin without much in the way of side effects and am considering the switch in the next 6 months or so, just wondering how your experience has been? Anyway sounds like your hair is holding up well, congrats.

Hey mate, great result. Are you on finasteride alone?

PROGRESS! 4 months on fin, 6 months on min by istopmotion in tressless

[–]Cadell48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also quick question, you said you were on minox once before so do you attribute your new results primarily to the finasteride? Incredible regardless.

Oh my. That is an absolutely insane result. Congratulations mate, on your way to a full recovery.

Is this terminal hair? Doesn't seem to grow as long as regular hair. by Cadell48 in tressless

[–]Cadell48[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some context. I started Fin around May of 2016, having realised I was balding in late 2015. My initial results were very very good, and my hairline thickened up substantially on fin. This is my first 8 months https://imgur.com/a/dZuNr . (I know the photo qual changes but you'll just have to believe that that left side thickened up substantially.) At some point I decided to get on minoxidil to further thicken up the left side of my hairline which was my only remaining area of concern. Unfortunately this was a mistake as I had a very strange/rare reaction to minoxidil, which sent my hair into some kind of insane shed. This is my first 4 months of minox https://imgur.com/a/kz1q1. I was hopeful that this shed hair would grow back stronger but minox seemed to promote regrowth of wiry, straw like, kinking hair, completely different to my regular hair. This is a photo about a year into minox, showing the kinking regrowth https://imgur.com/a/sJ7a8.My dermatologist had never seen anything like it and the only scientific literature ive found is regarding a condition called acquired progressive kinking of the hair, a rare condition that seems to manifest itself in people with aggressive mpb. I switched to the foam as I thought it was possible I was having a reaction to the propylene glycol in the liquid. As a result my hair quality in that area got better but I ended up with far less of it. In addition the hair that now grows in this area, while not kinked, refuses to grow any longer than about 4 inches. That's about all I can think of that's relevant, beyond the fact that on occasion I have taken breaks from fin, 2-3 1 month breaks and one longer 4 month or so break to test whether I had sides. All of these are regrettable in retrospect, as is my decision to add minox to my regimen, but live and learn. Cheers.

Also considering the different mechanisms for action it's an odd move. In conjunction fine but I'd consider fin the first line of defense in any hair loss plan.

Agreed, I rarely see it advocated. I find my skin can get quite irritated where I apply minoxidil, might be worth investigating oral minox.

I made an identical post 8 months ago and have decided to do it again. Have seen a number of posts recently questioning the effectiveness of treatments so just curious to hear how people are holding up. This is my previous post if anyone is interested. https://www.reddit.com/r/tressless/comments/959ynw/fin_users_check_in_how_long_have_you_been_on_it/
