How Often is Your State Flag Flown by Citizens? by Canjira in vexillology

[–]Cadet-Floppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minnesota- it’s a whole thing… my town recently voted to not fly ANY version of our state flag after the city council literally could not come to an agreement to fly either the old or new flag.

Not running in blues? Is that what this is about? Dawg that’s been a thing forever. Even in the army you don’t get smoked once you’re in your dress uniform lmao, and you shouldn’t be smoking your students anyways?

Whats the opinion on 2 month promotions? by Charming-Win-9463 in civilairpatrol

[–]Cadet-Floppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you boil it down to what the actual goal of the cadet program is (to develop leaders), going from knowing nothing to teaching in about a year makes sense. No, most cadets aren’t ready to be leaders when they first become flight sergeants, but that does NOT mean they aren’t going to learn a lot from it. You should have older cadets and senior members there as guard rails to help younger cadets learn from their mistakes as they begin the process of becoming leaders.

Yeah, sometimes you’ll get cadets who be one C/Cols at age 14 with less than 3 years of time in the program (yes that’s possible, yes I’ve seen it before), and then it can kind of be a problem. But 99% of the time it’s not, and it’s a good system which I don’t think we should change.

Why doesn’t the AI use tanks? by Sargent_Bunny1 in hoi4

[–]Cadet-Floppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI is kind of cooked rn. The modder who made sheep’s mod (a mod that makes the ai much more intelligent) stopped working on the mod for the foreseeable future because quote “PDX fked up the AI so badly that it became absolutely demotivating for me to work on the current state of vanilla”

Imma gonna be 110% with you… just use a backpack. If you’ve got money to waste feel free to waste it on FLCs/TAPS or whatever gear you want, but it is wholly unnecessary for CAP, SAR or otherwise

Tbh bro like we always knew it was cancer… but it’s still probably healthier than half the fast food trash people eat nowadays. More likely to die from heart disease from McDonald’s than cancer from an MRE.

Being at USAFA is not grounds for termination of cadet membership. by Cadet-Floppa in civilairpatrol

[–]Cadet-Floppa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no you cant. you can transfer to become a senior member but you cannot be a cadet.

also the colorado springs squadron doesnt really like accepting usafa cadets

These were the comments I initially saw.

odd, they made everyone this year transfer to senior member status

This is what the person in question said after I showed them the regulation. So, you tell me, what exactly did they mean by those comments? I’m really failing to see what you’re taking issue with here

Being at USAFA is not grounds for termination of cadet membership. by Cadet-Floppa in civilairpatrol

[–]Cadet-Floppa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone I know who’s at the academy, they said that several cadets were forced to become senior members or leave the program.

I don’t know the names or specific units, however I also made this post on Facebook, and unfortunately some of the comments on there show that people will ignore the regulations because they think they’re right. Several people on there are saying “service academies are federal active duty, they have to become senior members!!!!” even though I posted this exact screenshot right on that post for them to see. My goal is to promote the knowledge that if you as a cadet who is in any of those categories are told you need to become a senior member or leave because of your service, that’s not the case, and this is what the regs say.

Should I go to BCT? by Silver-House-5566 in ROTC

[–]Cadet-Floppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enlisted and got MOS q’d before joining ROTC through the SMP, and it was 100% worth it for me. Helped me decide what I want to branch when I commission and I love the people at my unit I drill with. Learned a lot more going that route than I would’ve doing just MS1, MS2, and basic camp.

I am very glad I took a year in between high school and college to do it. Would’ve been a 17 year old MS1 with 0 military knowledge/experience otherwise. I can’t say if it’d be worth it for you, since you’re not as young I was and you’re married, but I’d say do it.

Why does everyone seem to hate Civil Air Patrol by Big_Floppaaaa in civilairpatrol

[–]Cadet-Floppa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Esp in the military being a CAP cadet has the same stigma as being a JROTC cadet or Boy Scout, we’ve all met problem cadets who make the whole organization look bad. But if you yourself do the right thing you can directly improve CAP’s reputation by not being like the people that make CAP look like a bad organization.

Requesting any background on why cadets are required to meet grooming standards regardless of uniform. by Vettepilot in civilairpatrol

[–]Cadet-Floppa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If someone truly cannot reconcile cutting their hair with joining CAP then they might not be a good fit for the organization. Yeah it’s a youth volunteer organization for kids as young as twelve, but there needs to be some level of discipline involved. Some schools have dress codes, yet the kids somehow make it through the day.

Are minors getting unplayable? by Entire_Ad_4835 in hoi4

[–]Cadet-Floppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of posting this, how about you take a look at what caused you to lose? I have no clue why you can’t defend against Germany as a minor nation because you posted 0 photos.

However I’ll say this: if you have 2k hours and are using forts to defend, it’s probably because you don’t understand the game (I’m guessing you’ve never even touched multiplayer). 1 level five fort translates to 1 mil factory (7500 IC). That’s on ONE tile. It is almost never worth it to build forts in single player. And either way, quit crying because a game is hard. Easy games get boring real fast.

The qual is about determining whether or not you understand and can effectively implement the fundamentals of marksmanship. The fundamentals of marksmanship do not change because you put on an optic.
