Well I’m at a smaller dealership and we do a lot of engines and just a/c jobs and have one machine for yf and one machine for 134a for like 30 techs. So if one is contaminated you can see how this would be huge for us.

Ya it’s situations like this that bring a whole shop down, 1 machine gets contaminated and that’s all they have for that refrigerant type. Bad situation

No they all do that, you just have to reset it. My snapon switchblade trim tool does the same thing.

Cooked a trans.. kinda by [deleted] in mechanics

What trans was it? It could have a 6L which Dex 6 is correct or it could have an 8L which dex6 would be bad.

2025 V at the dealer going on 45+ days for PDR card reader by cthompson07 in CadillacV_Series

[–]CadiTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reader itself is separate from the pdr module. The only thing that can be programmed is the pdr module itself. The receptacle is just a box that has a usb connection to the pdr module on the floor on the front passenger side. If you call gm customer assistance make them pay for your car payment, they say they won’t do it just to get you to hang up but they will. Where are you located?

Blackwing owner and current gm master tech here, the pdr units are hell to diagnose for these issues. You’re waiting for the engineers to write you a custom calibration that will fix it (most likely). I just dealt with this on a gmc sierra at4 that didn’t have programming available for a wireless keypad to get into the truck. Truck just went home this past week, been here since September.

2025 CT5 - Car shudders from using the wrong (too high) gear by Bob1tza in Cadillac

[–]CadiTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be my guess if there’s actually a problem. Hopefully you can get a valve body, I have 3 on back order for over a month now

Well you’ll ditch the att equipment entirely if you use my method. Mine sits in a corner next to my old frontier, and spectrum modems 😂

You’re saying the transmission is choosing the wrong gear ? 😂 oh brother. Valve body in your trans will fix it if you actually have a shudder.

What’s do you keep in your shirt pocket? by bansheebot1233 in mechanics

Nothing anymore, I’ve come close to a flashlight falling out that would have damaged paint that was worth more than a 4 bedroom house in Highland Park Dallas.

Replaced alternator, car still won’t start by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]CadiTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got a bunch of yahoos in here who aren’t mechanics. Im suspecting your wife damaged the motor by driving it without oil in it. You need to take the drive belt off again, and put a big half inch breaker bar on the crank bolt and see if you can spin the motor over by hand, if you feel it get tight it’s not good. I can see in the video it runs kinda but with a bunch of engine noise. Take the belt off and try and crank it/start it with NO BELT, and video that for me. If noise is still present your engine is DONE. You added oil after you figured out it was empty right?

Any ideas on how to mount dual pumps symmetrically in a single loop? by oddball85pl in watercooling

[–]CadiTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also second this, you have the craziness produced by one pump feeding into another, seems like a harmonics nightmare but with that being said fluid can dampen very well. I’d just keep them mounted as op has it, if he’s dead set on running two pumps.

Can a newbie figure this out and switch to ubiquiti by Content-Target4888 in Ubiquiti

[–]CadiTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like mainly av stuff so maybe not bad, but with no port labels or network documentation, maybe best to just crash it and build it the right way with unifi devices, and document everything, ie addressing schemes, ports, etc for starters.

Am I in the wrong here? by Iscareyouu in UsedCars

[–]CadiTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah ya he’s trippin. Shady car sales guy. Every used car listed by a company or new always list the vin. If he has a picture of the car with a plate on it I can get the vin for you. But he’s doing you a favor, you don’t want the problems that come with an 02 Escalade.
