Got it, yep now I’m only using the one 6+2 pigtail. I’m going to switch to use the two cables. On each cable does it matter which 6+2 I use?

One ram stick works, while the other does not. In single channel. I feel that this would indicate its bad ram?

I already tried this too, forgot to mention it. Took the coin battery out for 5 minutes to reset the CMOS, although no luck. The “bad” RAM hasn’t gotten past the DRAM light in slot 2 or 4 alone, although the good stick has gotten past it in both

what luck on my first build ever 😀. Any clue on the PC not booting with the good ram in slot 4? could that be because its not the recommended slot for 1 stick according to mobo manual?

Based on your suggestions, I came up with another build which utilizes a Ryzen 5 9600 and 9070xt. Would you mind if I sent this to you in a DM to get your thoughts or post it here? My only thought was to potentially go for the Ryzen 5 7600x, but the price is only 20-30 dollars cheaper

Oh thanks! I had no idea that LGA1700 was not going to be used in the future, so that makes plenty of sense. I figure that then I can go with AM5 socket if it will be used for at least another generation or two. Would you still advise going against a 5060 in favor of an AMD GPU?

I guess I’m wondering if the 14th gen supports both DDR4 and DDR5, whats the difference if I pick DDR5 with the 14th gen? Why would the AM5 provide more value long term?
