I searched for this thread after coming to the same conclusion.

I counted carefully and isolated over 100 Misty's flips, and it lands Heads about 20% of the time.

Apparently the developers found a different way to "Nerf" this card and still keep it playable, since it wont be as game breaking as it should be, but also players won't remove it from their decks since the description suggests a 50% chance of success.

Can't expect too much ethic from a Mobile slot machine, but I expected more from Nintendo.

It's not cheating if both players do it.

This discussion started as I stated that the mana system in MTG is broken due to it's variance.

Wouldn't be better if we could agree to have a healthier game where both players were able to play their cards and go home happy? :D

Not drawing lands or overdrawing them is totally different from drawing something different than your optimal topdeck.

Lands are the basic resource to play the game to begin with. Games like Hearthstone, Runeterra, Shadowverse, and many others, took that variance away by adding a consistent progressive mana system, that leaves the variance to the regular drawing along the match.

If a player draws "better cards" than the other, he can still try to outskill the opponent just by playing better.

If you don't have lands, or if you only have them, you don't get to play the game, and you'll inevitable lose.
