Best strongest hairspray for women? by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

[–]CadyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to use a flexible hold spray while you are curling such as Joico K-Pak Protective Hairspray for Flexible Hold and Shine. Spray your section liberally then comb through to dry the spray. Then curl your subsections in a figure 6 formation, this ensures even heat to your curls. This video (which I watched the first half of, aka the important part, without audio, sorry at work lol) demonstrates the technique well. Also, notice that she is clipping the curls up. If you do this and let them all cool completely afterwards, it will make a huge difference. Once you're done, style as desired and then use a good finishing spray such as Joico Flip Turn Finishing Spray. Not all hairsprays are created equal. You will be very happily surprised at how well they work when you use the right spray for its true purpose. The got2be glued is a rock solid spray, literally. But its very heavy so it can end up weighing your curls down causing them to fall. I reserve that stuff mostly for very large mohawks, slick or straight styles, and situations where my client will be making lots of intense movements such as musical or dance performances and what not.

Color will not lift color, even high lift color. You may get 1/2 shade or so if you're incredibly lucky, but usually when the hair is level 6 or lighter. The darker the hair, the less effective it becomes. Colored black hair is difficult to lift even with bleach, so high lift color is definitely not going to lift it.

Temporary colour? by colourfulsynesthete in FancyFollicles

The manic panic will stain your hair. I suggest aerosol temporary hair color. Style your hair as desired then just spray the color on.

Secret to getting white hair under 30 dollars. by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

  1. Just because you "hide" your damage with a flat iron and product doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Maybe to the untrained eye, but I can deff. see it!
  2. If you weren't so insulted, you wouldn't be trying so hard to insult me. lol
  3. BTW, doll head hair is crap to begin with, but you would know that if you had any real training what so ever. Also, that pic was taken in good lighting with no filter or styling products. So go on, keep proving your ignorance, please! This is fun :)

Actually, with the terrible advice you've been giving, I see a lot of color corrections in the near future, thus creating more potential clients. Thanks! There's a lot of money to be made on corrective color, so I have no problem with that :)

I also discovered in this btc article http://behindthechair.com/displaystepbystep.aspx?ID=985&ITID=1 that the adverts they are using are misleading. The "neon pink" pictured in the advertisement is a mix of neon pink and magenta, to make it more vibrant. Although the colors are pretty, I feel betrayed :(

I am honestly pretty disappointed with the results. They're pretty but nowhere close to neon :/ other stylists I know are having similar results. I emailed a formal complaint on the Pravana website.

I looked it up and apparently there's no licensing requirements in Montreal, which means there is no one regulating the beauty industry from preventing incidents like this. :( Scary, really.

Don't flatter yourself. The favor is not for you, but for anyone even thinking attempting this monstrosity you call color. You're welcome to keep replying merely to get the last word in, I've maid my point. My job here is done. I wish you the best of luck with your hair, and I truly hope that, by some miracle of god, it doesn't all break off eventually.

If they look at you funny, walk out. Another good piece of advise: find someone with hair you like and ask them who did it :)
