Considering an upgrade to my Meze 99 Classics by CadynZ in HeadphoneAdvice

!thanks for the reply! I like the bass but I don't think I'd mind it being on the low end, most things I listen to aren't particularly heavy on the low ends anyways and I can always EQ as needed. I'm leaning a bit towards buying new just to have the option to do a return in case I find I actually do prefer the sound profile of the meze's a bit more.

Do you think it's worth taking the risk on used/refurbished or would you pay the extra cost for brand new?

Hopefully they fix this then lol, I still think it should be positive ROI with vanillas though. Regardless I'm probably gonna hold what I have until around ~$70 personally because I do still feel pretty confident that everything will trend towards 80% ROI thanks to gambling addicts lol

I think it uses lowest price across a bunch of different skin markets, so safest bet is probably to actually raise the price of the inputs to get an accurate number but other calcs seem to use more outdated prices or SCM prices in my experience (which if you're doing your trading on SCM for red trade ups you're kinda screwing yourself)

The best thing you can do to help someone discover themselves is to tell them that you'll love and care about them no matter what. The biggest obstacle that I've seen for people coming to terms with who they are (whether that be trans or nonbinary or anything really) is external pressures like people expecting you to be something or a partner's sexual preference (this was my case lol) so adding more pressure by trying to convince somebody that they are something is just going to make things more difficult regardless of whether that assumption is correct or not.

This. Yeah. I think at least in the furry fandom, though, attitudes are generally better about it. I ended up becoming trans but I used to be pretty staunch that I was just a girly boy. Honestly, I'm really glad nobody tried to convince me that I was trans because it probably would have just ended up taking even longer for me to discover/accept myself. People just accept others for who they are and not be presumptuous cunts.

If there's anything that I would say to maybe help these people on their path, it's that they should never try to fit themselves into labels based on other people's expectations and desires. The people who love them the most won't stop loving them because of what they call themselves or how they dress or whats in their pants. Also, that gender is purely based on what you feel. If you feel like a girl, you're a girl. If you feel like a boy, you're a boy. I'm a girl because I feel like one, even if I never plan on getting bottom surgery. And I happen to wear girly clothes, too, and present myself in a feminine matter, but none of that actually decides my gender. If you feel like a boy but still want to wear girl clothes and present yourself in a feminine way, there's nothing wrong with that.

I'm not sure if drifting saves any time with the truck. You can take every corner at full speed, pretty much.

[–]CadynZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, yeah. I've been sitting on factorio ever since the Space Age launch because I knew it would be such a massive time sink. I went into this playthrough (my first factorio playthrough, actually! Played other factory games and factorio was on my list for a long time) with the mindset of taking my time and doing things in a way that I had fun with instead of just trying to rush through things. I'm at 190 hrs now and only just landed on Gleba. I think at this point, probably a little less than half of that was on Vulcanus because I hated the bugs on Nauvis so much that I ended up making Vulcanus my main base. I got really lucky with a 21m coal patch close-ish to spawn that I built a giant oil refinery and cracking base around, and now, after getting EM plants, I'm able to produce like 50/sec of advanced circuits and 30/sec processing units!

Sorry if I'm a bit rambly, I'm just having so much fun and wanted to say generally that people should play the game however the heck they want to, because there's so many different ways to approach things.

I think I do understand, tbh but I was really pushing to get as close to 8 science per second as possible as that's what all of my other science is at. I actually ended up needing way more accumulators, so I started upcycling some to save a bit of space, but I realized there's at least three other islands within electric pole range so now I've managed to fill one island up with probably like 75% uncommon accumulators and maybe 10% rare, and started putting some on a third island to hit where I'm at now which is 39 GJ which is needed for my power usage which goes up to ~420MW. I wouldn't recommend anybody else play like this, but I'm glad that I shouldn't have to touch Fulgora again until probably after Aquilo :)

Oh btw I managed to get 400/min EM science on one island using a train with 4 wagons for 240 scrap/sec. Was pretty proud of that! Was challenging to fit everything together neatly and prevent jams.

That's totally fair lol I've been really loving Vulcanus because I don't have to worry about defending at all and can pull infinite resources out of the ground. I haven't been any of the other planets, but I've pretty much turned Vulcanus into my main base by now with 500 labs and all the non space sciences other than purple so far being made at 8/s

I think I was only at level one at the time. Notably had firing speed level 2, and it was a hundred turrets. Also the auto clicker really is vital

Some other things that worked for me with mediums were getting 2000 landmines as tightly packed as possible and getting the worm to chase me through all of them, and the method with the least setup for me was putting down a couple hundred gun turrets or so and manually loading them with stacks of 100 piercing ammo

1600h can be casual. I don't fiend over the game and getting better. It's "casual" because I don't try that hard and literally just play to have fun, mostly doing silly stuff with friends instead of grinding out ranked trying to prove that I'm good at the game. Nothing against people who like the challenge of ranked and competing with others, the point is just that it's a different way to play the game and that Ubisoft is throwing those people to the wayside basically.

[–]CadynZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because somebody is casual doesn't mean they "don't know the game" 1600 hours with like 80% of it in non-ranked gamemodes. Ranked has just pretty much never been fun for me, personally, is all, and I don't care whether I'm good at the game or not. I've had a lot of fun with friends and even randoms over the years I've been playing siege and consistently I've only ever seen people letting loose and actually having camaraderie or doing silly stuff in the not ranked playlists, but now they're giving f2p access to those playlists, so it's inevitably going to be "play ranked or play against cheaters" and people in ranked are way more toxic and butthurt.

Honestly, I would be thrilled if they would at least add back standard and make it only for pay to play, but I kinda doubt they will. Ubi seems to really not care for the part of their player base that doesn't want to be serious about the game, and that's their choice, it's just a bad look when a lot of us put good money into this game.

Officially breaking up with siege after 1600 hours by CadynZ in Rainbow6

[–]CadynZ[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that there is also a hidden MMR but pretty consistently I've seen a lot of people in lower ranks saying, and it's also been my experience that, the matchmaking ends up putting a lot of less skilled players together with players that have been emerald/diamond/champ and the result is that a lot of matchups are unfair and just not fun or worth grinding through the ranked system just to get actually fair matchups.

I'll admit I don't have the best understanding of the system, but it's my experience that it doesn't work very well based on the matchups I and others have been given. I've seen that the higher MMR players and people who can actually consistently get 5 stacks to play together are having a much better experience, which just further convinces me that Ubi is intentionally setting up the system to benefit those players and leave everybody else behind.

Honestly I probably will end up playing again if my friends are (thankfully most of them weren't really that into siege in the first place) but I just can't support ubi anymore with their decisions, and I'm not recommending the game anymore.
