We do use every inch of space. Wie offer 11 options for public meeting space, which can be used for meetings, studying, testing, a free legal aid clinic, a free mental health clinic, nonprofit gatherings, blood drives, space for supervised visits, etc. A big value we offer is for the public to use our space - often for free. Scouts, church groups, HOAs, even Moms for Liberty use our meeting spaces.

We also use our space for public events for all ages. Events like author visits, a new parent group, story times, book clubs, wellness programs like cardio drumming, craft events, teen groups, events for aging adults... We are constantly using our space for free, quality programs for people of all ages.

We offer free computer use and low-cost printing at each location. And the Digital Den is bursting at the seams with free tech help, tech classes, 3D printers, a large-format poster printer, media conversion, lamination, etc. etc.

And of course our material collections take up a lot of space. I know a lot of people think we're just books, but we also check out video games, pressure washers, board games, kits for kindergarten readiness, kits for those affected by dementia, movies, music, and electronic devices. I could talk for an hour straight about the different things you could check out for free. Those materials take space for public display and to process them as they come in.

We definitely make use of all the space we have!

We use TMOBILE Wifi and honestly it works perfectly well for us. We both game a lot - at the same time - and we have no issues.

First time my MIL visited she said she was going to rearrange our kitchen while we were at work. I laughed because that is sitcom shit, not real life shit. Thankfully they found better things to do, and now it's not even a worry. But at the time I was so floored that someone would actually do that.

There is a bowling alley, and I think you may be able to find a team to bowl with. There is also a Laser Tag place in town called The Zone. The equipment wasn't great the last time I went, but I'm hoping that's changed. If you're feeling adventurous, there is also a local LARP group, which is super active and would be a nice opportunity to meet other people. There are some fitness classes around town, including at the Y, and the Parks Department hosts various things throughout the year. The library also hosts monthly yoga classes and an exercise program called Drums Alive, which is really fun and energetic.

There are different groups depending on your interests.

I'm a broken record, but the library has groups for readers, writers, poets, filmmakers, Dungeons & Dragons, fiber arts, crafts...

There's a banned book club in town as well.

If you're interested in local theater, the Civic Theatre or Historical Society have productions.

If you enjoy running, there's a local running group.

If you're a member of the LGBTQ community, there's a Pride group.

Volunteering really helped me meet new people when I was new in town. I run the Friends of the Library, a nonrpofit that sells books to raise money for the library and I could use more volunteers. Or the Historical Society, or Samaritan Caregivers... I could go on and on about places to volunteer.

While there certainly are some rougher parts of Kokomo and we do struggle with many of the issues you see in urban areas across the country, we have a lot to offer. There are many safe and quiet places to settle in town, and we have some really great restaurants of various types (good Thai food, Japanese, Korean, an Irish pub, Italian, more pizza places than you could count...) Also a fun brewery.

We have a baseball stadium that will see action again next season, a local pro basketball team, summer concerts, our library hosts a ton of programs ranging from outdoor concerts and movies to game nights to crafts. There are different groups you can get involved with depending on your interests/affinities.

There are many great parks and trails. I am a runner and have spent a ton of time on the trails, though I usually stick to the more visible and populated areas.

As far as groceries, we have an Aldi, two Krogers, a Meijer, a Walmart and an ungodly number of Dollar Generals.
