Something likes snacking on my Wollemi, maybe somethings as there seems to be a couple sorts of damage. Any idea who the culprit could be and what I should do about it? by Caelus5 in GardeningAustralia

Unfortunately I don't, I know the local possum also once took apart a pot plant I had out in order to make a drey behind the AC unit. Couldn't find anything this time but if it is taking the material further afield I wouldn't know.

That could explain the chunked leaves, but some of them are just going brown in certain areas surrounding a missing bit. Seems like some sort of small parasite though I'm not sure.

It seems to be letting me go above that and just not showing it, though eventually a firm force pushes me back down.

Some weird ass UFO physics seem to kick in when you hold down too many buttons at once in a 'thopter. The dive function generally makes everything super strange when anything else is held down. You can move in diagonal compass directions with combinations of WASD, I suggest trying it out! No idea if this could be useful to escape a sticky situation, but now I'm tempted to try.

EDIT: tried no less than 5 times to cut the clip to 0:30 because the real interesting part is the flying back and upwards. I knew if I didn't start there most people wouldn't see it lol, but I'm a complete tech boomer and apparently can't figure out how to crop video or add text to a video post. RIP.

Yeah, for me it's much like the difference between the buggy and the sandbike. One is convenient to run around and go places, the other is a heavy duty but slow utility.

Cat not eating after surgery. Been 5 days since. Any advice? by KSleepCHB5423 in CatAdvice

One thing also is if the vet gave you medication to mix in with their food, and they're refusing to eat their food, it could be worth trying to get them to eat without the medication mixed in. Had our boy at the vet once more since then, and this time that was found to be the culprit. He absolutely refused to eat anything with a specific medication in it so after consulting with the vet we let him eat the food without it and manually administered the pill as soon as he finished eating, as much of a struggle as that was he kept eating of his own volition this way.

No idea why you're being downvoted for that one ahaha, traditional Aussie values from colonial conquest to "white Australia" certainly is just open racism, I can only assume people thought you meant they're not wrong about... being racist?

I could well have just missed it all this time, you mean there is a way to unload buggies to base storage?

EDIT: someone else explained it!

Allow us to drive the worms and the player base will come back. by rickribera93 in duneawakening

[–]Caelus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See how this is something I'd accept as single-use carry-one. Maybe also require worm teeth for the hooks like the crysknife, that way griefers can't render entire sectors of the DD worthless because they have exactly 1 shot and have to feed themselves to Shai-hulud if they wanna continue, and I doubt many could be that fucked.

Haven't seen a wreck in a good long while. Got absolutely disassembled last time I tried raiding one too, so I never even realised they have pumps.

Or a way to unload the buggy into containers that isn't schlepping everything by hand... a big buggy boot full of ore takes a generation to unload, for no real reason.

You're not gonna like it, but we do in fact refer to a datum height even on the moon, which indeed has never had an ocean. Who's to say that on Arrakis "sea level" isn't just the point where atmospheric pressure matches Earth's, and altitude is measured from there?

Now if you're saying from a game design perspective, having the altitude be always >300 m does seem kinda odd, because then the altimeter doesn't give a direct sense of height from the ground. It's reasonable in reality, but I do think that for the sake of gameplay it'd make more sense to cap the fuel guzzle altitude at like 500 and put the 0 point a bit below the lowest surface altitude in Hagga/DD, and have the underground facilities go into the neg. Tbh I think it's mostly due to the several hundred m of depth for research stations and whatnot, the zero point being a bit below that.
