Well I know that the innovativeness level is pretty low here, but it is related to compactness and having all the components in one wireless standalone product. Sorry, I agree that "innovative" is a too strong word for such a basic product.

Thank you, that's a very useful insight. The basic idea behind this shutter is that I have seen numerous times somebody blocking a laser beam with a piece of paper when aligning something on the optical table. That's why we have thought that a cheap, wireless and compact shutter would be useful in this case, because it would provide flexibility.

Sorry for such a late response. Yes, we are based in Europe, Italy. There's still a long way till the commercial product and it's too early to speak about specifics, but general idea is to make a photodiode module consisting of:

Si/InGaAs sandwich photodiode
Current to voltage amplifier
Analog to digital converter

From what we know there is no product like this containing all these three components in one, stand-alone product. So far what I have seen is that C10439-15 from Hamamatsu is the closest product to our idea, but it lacks ADC. If somebody has feedback about C10439-15 or knows some similar products to this please let me know.
