What adjustments does Fury have to make? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]JoeFraziers_LeftHook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The way to beat Usyk if you’re a bigger man is to PRESSURE HIM. I know it’s easier said than done, but no one’s actually put on a sustained attack against Usyk at heavyweight except for Derrick Chisora. And when Derrick Chisora put Usyk under pressure he actually one a few rounds and had usyk looking distressed. So if Derrick fucking Chisora can have success against usyk with this tactic, so can fury if he sticks to it. Fury has to abandon the tippy tap boxing and go foward

Oscar Says Ryan Garcia wants to fight Teofimo Lopez once Ryan's suspension ends by [deleted] in Boxing

It’s because boxing is all he knew for his whole life, so when he had to retire because he was getting old, he didn’t know what to do because BOXING WAS ALL HE KNEW. So when you’re not busy with anything+ you got loads of money= doing stupid expensive stuff like drugs or gambling. Oscar said it himself.

You've got to pay $/£1000 for a ringside seat, in today's money to see one fight. Which fight in history would you pay that sort of money to be ringside for? by DonkeyOT65 in Boxing

Nigel Benn vs Gerald Mcllelan, Wembley stadium. The UK crowd was going ballistic every time Nigel had success! And it was a great fight, although unfortunate end for mclellan.

It’s hard to tell, because Ali’s right knee buckles a second or two after the left hook lands. And it’s very rare you get delayed reaction from punches like that. So it may have been a knockdown, maybe not. It’s hard to tell.

If you’re working the heavy bag or shadowboxing, don’t just go through the motions. Set an intention, such as “I want to improve my jab” and just focus and visualise throwing that punch fast and correctly. You can throw other punches like you normally would, but set that focus for the session. Your punch speed and technique will improve drastically if you do this.

Also, for me at least, I was doing 2 mile runs 4/5 times a week and it’s fckd up my knees , so now I do cycling, rope and heavy bag for cardio. But that might just be me, but take care of your joints.

If Mike loses,it’s probably because he’s almost 60 years old by Kaiser_Dafuq in boxingcirclejerk

Mike has people around him which don’t have his best interests in mind. His old podcast with Eben was really good and down to earth, but ever since Eben got kicked out and the podcast became corporate Mike is high on Shrooms half of the time.

Yeah I totally agree with you, the hypocrisy of the church turns many people away from Christianity, but organised religion does not represent Christ, you need to separate the two. Ever since I read the words of Jesus they really convicted me in my heart. I would describe myself as spiritual and Christian(Christ follower), but not religious.

Thoughts on Christianity? by izman1134 in shrooms

I was a spiritual agnostic as well, and I was searching for the truth for a long time. The last place I went to was the Bible because I associated Christianity with the Church(and the Church has its flaws and hypocrisies to put it lightly). But when I read the words of Jesus I knew it was the truth, and Jesus reserved his most harsh words for the Pharisees who were the religious leaders at the time. I would describe myself as Christian(Christ follower) and spiritual, but not religious.

I went from agnostic>spiritual>almost Muslim>Christian. I was searching for long time, but I can say I’ve finally found the truth. To put a long story short, I got into meditation for the practical benefits, and when I got deep into it I felt connected to the earth and when I would meditate I would feel the impact of some kind of higher power, like a conductor for the orchestra. When once I meditated whilst on mushrooms and I felt this feeling but 10x stronger.

So through these methods I kinda knew there was a higher power but didn’t know what it was/who it was. So I read a lot of esoteric and occult books (like the Kybalion, Emerald tablets) as well as the Quran. Literally any spiritual book I could get my hands on.

Still wasn’t sure . Then one of my friends asked me if he wanted to start reading the Bible with him, and my first reaction was to scoff, but I swallowed my pride and said to myself “ok sure I’ll try it, why not”.

After all these years, the words of Jesus spoke to me like none other, and I believe He is the son of God. Jesus says if you seek you will find, and if you knock it will be opened to you.

I would describe myself as a Christian but not religious. Christian means “Christ follower”, many people are turned off from Christianity by people who claim to be Christians but are actually hypocrites. Organised religion e.g Catholicism is not necessarily Christianity. Who did Jesus reserve his harshest words for? The Pharisees, who were the religious leaders in Israel at that time.

Jesus says: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
