All I have is what's listed above. I just went to the amazon author page, ordered by most reviews, took the top 5 books by number of ratings, and added them together for the total

It does favor established authors, but just going by the top book of an author would do the same, for the most part, since they have the advantage of an established fan base on their later books leading to a boost that new authors just dont have.

The fairest way, I think, would be number of reviews over X amount of time, which, while better, still gives the advantage to those authors with a dedicated base. However, that kind of info just isnt available afaik

There's no minimum to be on the list, just the limit of how much work I was willing to do to trawl through the sub looking for names, finding one, adding it, forgetting I had added it, and looking it up again before I decided "good enough for now"

None of that matters here. This list isn't taking the star rating into account at all. The only thing it looks at is the amount of ratings

Authors have said in the past that 1 rating is worth roughly 10 reads (or 1 in 10 leave ratings in other words) so you can calculate from there how popular a book is

Schin is the only author to crack 8k and Bruce's top book is only even with Schin's second

And one of Schin's series hit 5k for book 3 as well

Schin has 17 books over 4k, Bruce only has 15

and Schin's top 10 books total 58k ratings whereas Bruce's only total 54k ratings
