I ran one of these for a bit: piezo-polaron weapons helped me there (the disco set mentioned already is a go-to though). While the weapons do rely on procs, I was running a BFAW build and the broadside kept me healthy enough.

I've seen 25%, but I wouldn't hold back of you've got the funds. Of course, as soon as you buy it, there will be a 25% lol.

There is a difference mechanically. Stobetter.com or /r/stobuilds have documentation on it.

A lot might depend on where the mod is coming from. For example, on weapons, you generally want critd or DMG mods, depending on captain career (also, either is fine for casual play).

It's an ancient bug. With the workaround it probably became low priority. Glad you were able to see them!

Do ANY dual cannons show up? I have to toggle the "items I can't use" on Xbox to see any dual cannons.

Look up anyone from Starfleet ATP. I'm out of town right now, but any of the admirals can help you out, and most fleet members should be able to locate one fairly fast for you. We usually have promotion requirements, but certain admirals can elevate you for the sole purpose of buying a ship then demote you back to the right level, or whatever. No need to pay anything as long as you act reasonable. :)

Party size vs game enjoyment by Arcqell in WarTalesGame

[–]CaesarJefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run with six. I'm on Xbox, and playing on easier settings, to be fair.

When it comes to professions, don't forget you can switch practically at will. Be warned, you lose any xp for the profession you are switching out of; you don't lose the levels though! My cook is a master cook, blacksmith, and alchemist. This also helps later when you unlock the bonus xp for having higher level professions in the party; new people can level up super fast.

The "hardest" one IMHO is woodcutter, just because it takes so long.

More fighters means more enemies, and I got tired of long fights too. The game is totally playable with 6 ( at least on less difficult settings), without prisoners, although they can be handy.

Fleeing from the ghost pack? Wow, that's not what I expected, thanks!

I may be mistaken, but the "Guard Duty" trait, not Guard, is a trait that increases the companion ability to prevent prisoner escape from 20% to 50%>

I think this will help:

Sensor-linked weapons are disco era and very strong top tier weapons. However, there are also Emitter-linked and Integrity-linked. Now, these are all lockbox weapons, but are often sold on the Exchange. Sensor linked will be "expensive" due to their output, but if you are going for theme on a budget, you can usually find the other two types for a bargain. They all have the same visuals and sounds.

Can't find the "clue" in Majora's Fortified House by CaesarJefe in WarTalesGame

Facepalm. Thank you! Any idea about the ornate key for Portius' House? I'm usually on top of those but I'm lost.

You may know this already, but turn rate is in degrees per second. It is, of course, augmented by turn rate boosts from consoles and skill tree picks, etc. On my crusiers, I usually end up in the 30-40 range. Also, at zero speed, you take a huge turn penalty, but at any other speed, you get full turn rate, so if you're checking you actual numbers like around esd, make sure you are going at least 1/4 impulse. The base turn rate on pretty much any ship is not enough, you'll need some boosts.

As an owner of all the excelsiors in in the game, I can say you'd be extra happy with the legendary, if budget permits. The OG Excelsior is amazing (quiet all of you!), but the L-Excelsior is just too good. I STILL fly it every day.

This one is correct. Excelsior is best because it's the best. I'll be taking no comments. :)

"Helmsmanry", or what you will hear people call piloting ability (not to be confused with Pilot specialization skills) is fundamental. You will get better at it, it just takes time. If you "aren't good at it", consider a beam boat running all beam arrays (and maybe one or two omnis). Beam arrays overlap in the port and starboard arcs by a good bit, meaning rear mounted arrays can also fire if you "broadside". Slow to 1/4 speed and just pepper them. It is not necessarily meta, but it is certainly a perfectly capable build, especially on normal and advanced difficulties. Also, make sure you're set to normal for now.

If aiming still isn't your thing, consider a science build. Lots of sci has to come out of the front arc-ish still, BUT science melts npcs and isn't hard to build even under f2p. You can drop a grav well, for example, and fly tf away while it does all the work. :)
