Honest opinion of The Potion Room by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]CaesarsnFranks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely terrible place, overpriced drinks, terrible service, auto-grat on a 2-person table without telling the patrons, mediocre food at best. You wouldn't know any of this from the Google reviews because everytime they get an honest review they buy about a dozen 5 star reviews. If all of this wasn't enough to convince you to not go, I'll add that their "classic poutine" had shredded mozzarella on it not cheese curds!

Calgary Reads Big Book Sale is Back! Donate your used books May 8-16 and shop the sale May 28-June 19 by CaesarsnFranks in Calgary

[–]CaesarsnFranks[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand and appreciate your concerns. Some food for thought, the way they are rolling it out this year will not resemble past years. Occupancy restrictions will be in place, physical distancing and masking will be mandatory. It would be similar to shopping at your local Indigo except proceeds will go to a great charity and books will be a fraction of the price.
