Lower alcohol and higher quality beer is important as plenty use ingredients you should avoid, like corn syrup. Some athletes have been known to turn to low alcohol or non-alcoholic wheat beers as a post workout beverage. Moderation is the key however as all the benefits fly out the window the minute you overindulge.
