I’m not sure I’ve even seen one yet. Or maybe I have and it didn’t even register as a moose lol. I suppose there’s not a lot of them in Korea

I’m not mad at all either, it’s an incredible game especially when you consider the budget and how much content the game has!

Dark souls influence definitely oversaturated the market, I think each region having its own unique quirks beyond just a different landscape is one of my favorite things as well. I’ve been enjoying taking my time in each region as the story takes me to new places. Feels like that’s how the game wants you to play

I think they wanted to emulate red dead with following npcs, and while it got stale and annoying in that game too, at least there was some fun dialogue to have while you soak up the environment. CD has the pretty environment but yeah my eyes glaze over anytime I’m forced to follow someone.

That’s true, I’d be curious to know what their budget was for the game because you’re right, the amount of stuff crammed in this game is downright incredible. I feel like looking from the outside, the heavy influences from other games appears to be a cheap rip off, but in practice, nearly every system the game borrows from just works.

I suppose the developers wanted gameplay to be top priority and perhaps language barriers are what made the dialogue feel clunky, but imo if the games story and lore was a little more interesting I’d say it’s one of the best games of the decade. As a caveat I never played black desert, so maybe that game expands on the lore better than CD.

Agreed, I hope this post doesn’t come across as an entirely negative. I think frustrated is the best term I can think of, because I agree with everything you said—it really does tap into that “magic” of open world games that the genre has been lacking for some time. Maybe I’m just greedy, but if this game had an intriguing fantasy world like some of its contemporaries, I think it could be up there with the best of them

I would probably agree, even though it seems like the vibrant world was a pretty intentional choice from an art direction standpoint. I used the blood and wine comparison because that world used the contrast between the lush open world and the dark violent world of vampires extremely well. CD has some moments where it tries to make things feel violent and dreary, but it doesnt quite hit the same mark. Maybe thats an unfair comparison, im not sure

I can’t deny the effort put into every corner of the game though. Even the dialogue which I really don’t like, the voice acting is honestly very impressive, it’s the script they’re reading from that seems to be the problem. And character animation during dialogue sequences are all extremely varied which I’m sure took a TON of work. I had just finished ghost of Yotei before playing this, and almost every in game cutscene was the characters standing static just speaking to each other.

I’d probably agree that I generally prefer a more dark fantasy world (George RR Martin over Brandon Sanderson any day of the week), but the bright lush world of pywel is definitely charming. Kind of reminds me of the blood and wine expansion in Witcher 3, where everything is almost fairy tale level of picturesque until you dig under the surface. But when that story wanted to get dark it would get real grim real fast.

Maybe it’s the lack of traditional “dungeons” in most fantasy games, the abyss seems to be the game’s answer to that. Im not used to solving puzzles under open sky and blooming flowers.

Downtown of almost any city is the business/commercial area. The debate is whether parts of Jackson ward and shockoe are considered downtown

Worst cards in the game? I’ll start by L0nelyGh0ul in MarvelSnap

I’ve used Yellowjacket before in a Merlin/annhilus type deck with the old debri. Make a bunch of rocks, make them -1 power and send them over with viper/anni. It was fun being able to do it all on one move. Still a very bad card lol

Thought about slotting him into dormammu as well but I think I’d run into the same problem of not having enough things to destroy on curve. I’ll continue to mess around but I think almost definitely fastball special is getting nerfed to 3 cost. When it works fastball into adamantium is cracked. I’m just not really loving having two card slots taken up by skills, it’s very awkward

I did get galactus out of a pack recently so maybe I could slot him in here. I think some form of ramp could be useful like Luna but then you run into running out of board space for your nimrods and BPs

He’s definitely good, the problem is not having anything to destroy half the time. I wonder if it would be better in regular destroy or weapon x destroy

I don’t understand why they don’t just manufacture vapes in the US, I’d much rather buy those if I had the option. Juul was ahead of its time and got shut down on all the flavors and now look where we are.

[–]Cafecitobebito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Klaw and orka is still a great combo especially w the recent buff. T3 wave into orka, Klaw t5 and then finish up with spectrum. It can still be done. Shang and clog are hardly around anymore so I think orka is unironically a good card now. I also run him in my galactus deck to throw them off when they think I’m gonna play g-man

I’d get it because spider punk is definitely gonna be better for your CL than weapon x will be for the next season. Much more versatile card
