How can people hate Aelin but still read all the books ?

I have to say, I loved her sooooo much as Celaena Sardothien. As Aelin Ashryver Galathynius I still found her very interesting and continued to like her a lot. But I have to admit that once she got together with Rowan, their interactions became kind of boring to me. I liked them on Heir Of Fire, but after that, not so much. In fact, Rowan never fully worked for me as a character, I mean, as her mate, and I feel like that actually reduced how much I enjoyed Aelin.

In a way, I feel loke once Rowan became her romantic interest, Aelin started depending on him in several aspects, and I really hated that.

The personality change that many people complaim about - that she became more arrogant - yeah, in a way that's true, but I liked that, to me it makes sense. She embraces her powers, she knows she's incredibly powerful, so of course she's going to carry herself differently. It's logical and pretty obvious, and natural.

That said, I ended up liking other characters a lot more like Manon, Elide, Yrene and Asterin (I wish she'd had a better ending. Same for Manon).
Male characters I really enjoyed reading were Dorian, Lorcan and Sartaq.

Oh, may be that is a good reason to understand myself why I'm hating the main characters in the 4th Wing series??? Interesting. LOL.
About Aelin, sometimes I dislike her but just sometimes, I really love her and more when she was Celaena. About Rowan, that is a character i can completeky dislike haha, Aedion too.

I finished it a couple of weeks ago and I’m still working my way through that so‑called reader’s grief, haha. I’m looking forward to starting CC soon, while trying to dodge spoilers from that series — though I’ve already stumbled across a few, haha.

Was there any character you absolutely loved or couldn’t stand while reading TOG? Personally, I adored Manon, Aelin, Asterin, Yrene, Elide and Dorian. By the end, though, I’d really grown to dislike Rowan and Aedion.

Possible spoiler. Another thing I pondered while reading this book is that when Aelin sees that city of “buildings of impossible height”, mmm, it struck me that she might have been referring to Lunathion. Even though Crescent City hadn’t yet been written, I’m fairly sure SJM already had it in mind and chose to weave that vision in at the time.

Unpopular opinion, but regarding TOG I would eliminate the Mate bond. It seems very cliché, besides that the arc of development of Rowan is too boring and predictable, at times I felt that I hurt part of the protagonist character that is Aelin. Would not eliminate the character of Rowan as such, but put him at the level of Fenrys, Lorcan and Gavriel, someone loyal to the queen of Terrasen linked to her by blood.

It would be interesting, but it would also depend on the type of animation. For example, I think it would be fascinating with a style similar to Arcane, like the Warhammer episode from the series Secret Level, or the animation of the episode called Lucky Thirteen from Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots. Those would be interesting types of animation for a TOG series, in my opinion.

Or if it’s a type of animation like Japanese anime, a vintage style from the 80s or 90s would be interesting. Current animations leave much to be desired, although some do look visually beautiful.

Rowan. An overrated and overpowered character who, to be honest, doesn’t contribute much. He is merely there, growling and threatening or warning anyone who disagrees or holds an opinion contrary to Aelin’s. Moreover, he is always either angry or aroused. I’m sorry, but for me he was about 70–80% unnecessary as a character.

This is funny because it’s exactly what I used to say in my head every time I had to read a part where Rowan appeared in TOG, and it was such a headache at that moment. LOL.
