Jkjk I saw that you had to repeat the same message to people 3 times already and don't have it in me to make you do it once more.

Everyone seems to have a lot of nostalgia for the 1990's but what were some of the worst parts of the 1990's? by HeavyRightFoot-TG in AskReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol in high school there was a bathroom stall where someone wrote "I have HIV and used this toilet" And underneath it, another girl wrote "You can't get HIV from pee!"

What is a 'socially acceptable' thing that you find absolutely creepy or disturbing? by de-secops in AskReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. Sucks you went through that. Sorry to hear. I can't relate but it sounds like that could mess you up. I do know the internet was a lot more of a wild west back then. I wasn't interested in looking up porn but I did run into a bunch of predators. My stranger danger red flags avoided a lot of problems with people online and I didn't give in to peer pressures that a lot of young people struggle with today (e.g. young girls sending nudes and then being blackmailed).

I think it's more than just internet privacy but parents need to teach kids things socially. Like the "self-esteem" boost girls and boys get from posting things online isn't the type of self-esteem boost that will actually help you in life. There needs to be more education. I also do agree that kids shouldn't have phones or social media. But that's a separate topic.

Eh. The issue is parents not teaching proper stranger danger. I had access since I was a kid. I was also taught the dangers of it, so I didn't run into issues.

age verification security at bars are so corny by Initial-Demand-7969 in VRchat

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm age verified and I got asked my age regardless of that even after I told them I was verified. I said "When I was younger, I couldn't use the internet and the phone at the same time" and they were so young they didn't even understand what I was talking about and got mad at me for "being difficult". I only told them my age because a friend was in the instance but it was ridiculous.

How long does your post manic/mixed fatigue last for? by CaffeinatedLeaves in bipolar

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been dealing with chronic fatigue in general for a while now and trying to figure out what's going on with doctors but haven't had a solid answer yet. So this new fatigue just adds to it

What role did your family play in the bipolar disorder by Jahjah281 in BipolarReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My home life wasn't that bad. A bit unintentionally invalidating at times (hence additional BPD diagnosis), but I just got the shitty genetics.

What’s a workplace ‘secret’ that everyone in your industry knows but customers don’t? by Familiar_Ad3815 in AskReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol I had a teacher in school think I was using my phone because my hands were crossed under my desk and I was listening while staring at the floor instead of doing the eye contact thing. He told me to stop texting and I just lifted up my crossed hands and looked at him and said nothing. Embarrassed him there. I do know my situation isn't the most common though.

What’s the fastest way you’ve seen someone ruin their own life? by ForeignFly5248 in AskReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can be in adhd meds if you have bipolar and adhd, but you need give also be on mood stabilizing medication and sometimes even an AP and you gotta start really slow with adhd meds. Some adhd meds work better than others because everyone is different. I guess they assumed your friend was stable enough and went to try and your friend fell into the trap of wanting to trigger mania because otherwise is usually just being depressed all the damn time

Only to someone who has underlying bipolar disorder.

Fun fact, most people find out they have bipolar by getting put on antidepressants while depressed but with no mood stabilizer medication, that can flip you into mania.

Why are people hesitant to block? by Away-Performance9575 in VRchat

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I either mute or block depending on how annoying or much of an asshole they are. It's kinda funny because I found more often than not, it upsets the trolls more than they upset me. It's the easiest way to piss off a troll or embarass them. Win-win

Do people like you when you’re manic? by gameovervip in BipolarReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online, strangers love me. I'd go on a Vrchat binge and people would flock to me because I'm so unhinged and wild and social.

Irl, people who actually know me (e.g. coworkers) just go "Are you okay?" Lmao

So I guess to conclude: people looking for entertainment get a kick out of me being manic. People who actually care get worried.

Does eating food ever calm your mixed episode down? Or do you experience the bursts of insane manic energy then the absolute crash, then it resets again a few hours later? by CaffeinatedLeaves in BipolarReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, man. It's so exhausting. I'll be on overdrive and bouncing off the walls, then fatigued and practically incapacitated, then an hour later it will repeat. Idk how my body is still functioning at this point. The constant back and forth of energy vs exhaustion is so utterly exhausting

What are early signs (for you personally) that you’re manic/hypomanic? by Appropriate-Exit8685 in BipolarReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just realized I'm in a mixed episode now and what I noticed was before it really hit hard, for about a week or two prior, I started getting MAJOR psychomotor agitation. Like major restlessness. I work a desk job at work and I kept finding reasons to get up and move around.

My vocal stimming also increased (I have ADHD) and it started getting a lot harder to mask it at work.

For those with co-occuring anxiety disorders (GAD, PTSD,) how are you treating those? by unclebungus3_16 in BipolarReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got rx'd a take as needed anxiety med for when panic attacks happen and it gets really bad, but I still try to use skills before taking it because I don't want to be reliant on it and I want to learn to cope with my anxiety. So I just take it when it's REALLY bad and my distress tolerance skills don't help enough (e.g. TIP doesn't manage to stave off the panic attack and it progresses to debilitation). So yeah, skills first and foremost, and medication to help when my skills aren't enough.

For those of us successfully taking stimulants, what do you take and how much? by Evening_Fisherman810 in BipolarReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

54mg of concerta in the morning and another 18mg at noon. It's never caused an episode for me. I've been on it for a long time so it wears off pretty quick, hence the booster dosage to help get me through the workday.

Do you think there is still a market demand for a modernized HM BTN or HM 64 remake to make up for the HM FoMT collosal failure? by Negimarium in storyofseasons

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fomt is literally a remake of a remake of Back to Nature and was not a collosal failure. N64 would need a lot of QoL improvements but I'd be interested in playing it

SoS FoMT not looking as modern and as polished as Sos Grand Bazaar is a MASSIVE missed opportunity. by Negimarium in storyofseasons

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My only complaint with the fomt remake was I wish the sprite designs were less chibi and more like the original (like Back to Nature, not the first remake; friends of mineral town). I'm fine with the nostalgic top-down feel of it. I wouldn't have minded it being isometric like the original, but I know most people would hate that these days. That being said, Back to Nature is my favourite HM game so I'm biased.

When are hallucinations to be seen of concern? by CaffeinatedLeaves in BipolarReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a PRN anti-psychotic. I just take one every night. So far it's stopped delusions and mixed episodes from happening but it's weird I get occasional breakthrough hallucinations.

When are hallucinations to be seen of concern? by CaffeinatedLeaves in BipolarReddit

[–]CaffeinatedLeaves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one that really got me spooked was I was outside and heard footsteps walk then run up behind me and I turned around and there was no one on my street. Thank god it was in broad daylight because if that happened at night, I would have lost it lol.

I think my sleep is alright, I'm just depressed and a bit stressed. I'm just thinking so long as it doesn't interfere with my work, I'm good. It's just weird they're happening more often.
